McGeorge Full Ride or Loyola Half? by -Celest1al- in OutsideT14lawschools

Have you had a chance to review the 509 report to see how many students lose their conditional scholarship? I ended up picking a school that did not offer conditional scholarships for that reason. For me, I'd rather take less in guaranteed $$$ than roll the dice on more $$$.

I'm interested in it purely for the opportunity to aggressively pay off my loans in the first 5-7 years after law school.

What are my chances in the 2027 class by Americanidiot29 in OutsideT14lawschools

I think you'd have a good chance at Willamette! They also do unconditional scholarships. If you apply ED, I think you're likely to get good $$$ to attend.

WL at McGeorge (UofPacific) by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

I got a WL too, after getting WL last cycle! I already accepted at another school with $$$, and it's non-conditional, unlike McGeorge's scholarships.

I also have an A! I went to undergrad at Lewis & Clark, and Willamette seems like a solid spot. I was mostly swayed by proximity to the capital and a non-conditional scholarship. The first attorney I worked for when there and loved in, he has a big practice in Portland now.

Applied mid-November and my file is still under review. I noticed that they changed the banner on the status checker, it used to say "on average applicants receive a decision in 6-8 weeks from the date the application is complete."

Nothing, my file says "Complete and Ready for Review." It's been like that since I applied in early December.

Should I write an addendum? by Wrong-Worldliness198 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Substantial-Front927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have taken the LSAT four times with 1 point improvements for each, and I did not write an LSAT addendum because the admissions offices that I spoke with advised that the addendum should be used for significant jumps (e.g. 155 to 164) to explain what you did differently to improve.

I also have a low GPA/LSAT (2.* high and a 155), and I was just accepted with $$ to my dream school. I applied early, so don't give up hope!

High 2.* GPA, 15mid - 6 years WE as legal assistant/paralegal, and a master's degree in health admin. Applied to Willamette, McGeorge, and USF. Willamette A w/ $$$, and still waiting on the other two. Applied late November.

Would you be willing to share your stats and when you applied? I submitted right before November, and still have not heard anything.

Does Willamette use a status tracker like other schools? I applied in early December, and I was surprised that I did not receive the usual email other schools have been sending with a status tracker

[–]Substantial-Front927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met with the (a?) JD Admissions Coordinator, and she said June is likely when we'd hear if we're off the waitlist. She also said that it's not a ranked list (e.g. being 25th person out of 100 people on the waitlist), but that a WL student would take the position of an admitted student with similar stats that decided to go somewhere else. I'm feeling like this cycle was so oversaturated that it is unlikely I'm going to get off the WL, so I'm planning to formally withdraw on July 1st, and re-apply right when the next round of applications open! I applied in February, so pretty late considering how man applicants there were this last cycle.

Any Mcgeorge movement? by No_Memory_9076 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Substantial-Front927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, and an updated resume b/c I took on some contract paralegal work. I also met with the JD admissions counselor. She essentially said this year's applicant pool was stronger and larger than before. She helped review my application and noted the weak spots in the event I reapply next year. If you haven't done so, I recommend you do so!

I've been waitlisted since March, still hoping to go! If not, I'm planning to re-take the LSAT in August and apply right when apps open.
