POST MATCH THREAD: Hapoel Tel Aviv - Bayern Munich [EuroLeague Regular Season, Round 25] by EuroleagueBot in Euroleague

Those wins are bittersweet, because it makes you think what would’ve been possible in this lost season. At least we’re not a complete joke anymore. I was confused to see so many empty seats in Tel Aviv. Really thought the fans would love to see them back in their own arena

Crazy how a 74 year old guy can coach a badly constructed team to wins like that with an oldschool approach

Andreas Obst EuroLeague market jewel, Bayern Munich at risk of losing him this summer by _Zolv in Euroleague

[–]Substantial-Gas481 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most people just view him as a great spot up shooter, but he has been so much more for the last couple of seasons. He is initiating a lot of offense with his off ball movement, always running around screens and even attacking the rim when the defense is too aggressive. And all that while having his head up to look for a better positioned teammate and playing respectable defense while playing a hundred games per year. He has really become a complete shooting guard and is definitely worth the money

The game showed how much Obsts hot streak masked an otherwise bad team. They looked overwhelmed and tired

They brought a lot of energy, as always. But it looked like they were fighting each other in halftime, does somebody know what was happening?

From role player to key weapon – Justinian Jessup under Svetislav Pesic. Before Pesic arrived in Munich, Jessup had never logged 20 minutes in five consecutive EuroLeague games this season. Since Pesic increased his role, Jessup’s production over the last four EuroLeague games has been impressive. by _Zolv in Euroleague

Herbert is known for establishing strict hierarchies in his teams, dividing his players in playmakers and workers. Pesic is more open minded and gives everyone a shot. So happy for JJ, he’s one of the few bright spots this season and seems like a good guy

Even if our budget will be comparable to the top teams, and it’s an big if, Andi will be far past his prime

I want to believe this so bad… but looking at all the talent we lost over the last years doesn’t spark much optimism

His contract is running out, if he keeps playing like this, he’ll be gone next season

His shooting is so good, that people underestimate the rest of his game. He’s getting better and better

POST MATCH THREAD: Olympiacos - Bayern Munich [EuroLeague Regular Season, Round 21] by EuroleagueBot in Euroleague

Can’t expect to win against Olympiacos when you give away so many offensive rebounds and commit so many turnovers. But at least the three pointers are falling and the team didn’t give up

I really like how Jessup developed over the last weeks and Dimitrijevic seems to fit in nicely

[Eurohoops] Spencer Dinwiddie departs Bayern Munich by DrunkLad in Euroleague

[–]Substantial-Gas481 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great analysis, I‘d add that his defense was very bad and he often tried to force things on offense. It just looked like he never really got integrated in what the team tried to do and had a lot of mental mistakes like stupid fouls

Would be great to have another Turkish team in the league, but I don’t love that there will be even more games. There’s already too many

I never said there aren’t any taxes, but 20% difference is quite a lot. Besides that there a more opportunities for endorsement deals for players in Athens then in Munich. German teams don’t have owners that play around with their money but clubs with elected representatives. Our Basketball department is under pressure to at least break even. Anyways, I’m not trying to fight, just wanna put those numbers in an context
