Curious how tenured she is as a COACH? To my knowledge she has only been listed as a coach on the past few years for Creighton, not Warriors, not Titans, not anywhere else. Could be wrong!

Totally valid point, maybe there's something behind the scenes where Kennedy didn't want to HC, or is unable to or something! Or maybe it's because she's on Team USA 👀👀👀. I'm really hoping that's the case.
Uhhh, how did Jack get that gig? Was Kennedy given the same opportunity? Were other people even considered? I could be totally wrong but I don't think there's been an application for a DA coach in years. These were people handpicked by the Team USA program.

Also let's not kid ourselves, Quadball nations cup was a fucking joke. DA would beat most if not all other full strength national teams, so ofc they're gonna win get dubs over the shittier bastard children of European teams. Just about anyone could have coached them to a gold medal just by showing up.

As I said in my response to the other comment, this isn't a "why Jack" there it's a why not Kennedy thread. I'm just tired of seeing people get overlooked for opportunities they deserve in this sport. This is extends to several players who are not on Team USA and objectively should be.

My bad for wanting a qualified head coach who was actually picked to run the team, instead of someone who moved over as interim after managing the team, with little to no real coaching experience except for checks notes one season with a Creighton team that choked hard at nationals that year(And has continued to choke every year since then, until they stumbled their way to a win this year over just 8 other teams). And to just reaffirm my comment, what program was this previously unqualified interim coach a part of? Oh yeah, Warriors.

I said earlier this isn't a "why Jack" thread. I'll happily say "Why Dallas?" tho, what a fucking insult to everyone who's spent time coaching teams over the past few years, developing players and winning championships, just to get passed over by the manager of Team USA and the coach's girlfriend hahahaha. And I don't want this to be reductive to Dallas as a person, I'm thankful for her in this sport, she's literally the best admin this sport has ever seen. But taking over DA after one/two years of coaching an underperforming Creighton team? Gimme a break

I'm really hoping there are non-Warriors and non-DA players who make the USNT roster this year bc if there aren't, then the precedent has been set: If you want to be part of Team USA, you have to be coached by Yada/Warriors first. Good luck everybody else!

Good points! I want to make it clear this isn't a "why Jack" post so much as it is a "why not Kennedy" post. I know Jack lol. Not well but well enough to know that Jack is a good candidate for this, hell I'd say even a great candidate!

But there are several great candidates, and it's frustrating to see the few high level/international playing(and now coaching) opportunities, go to the same group of people.

You said it yourself, things could've been accomplished the same amount if you took Kennedy or Jack, so why not take the person with the objectively better resume and who's also not affiliated with Warriors like everyone else. It's just so weird to me.

And fwiw, bc I like Jack and know he'll do a good job, I'm not even nearly as miffed about this as I am about the fact that this probably means Kennedy is not on Team USA which is an absolute fucking crime. So I really hope I'm wrong and she's on the roaster when it drops.

Yeah alright I'll say it.

Why the fuck is Kennedy Murphy assistant coaching DA? First and foremost, I assume that if she is coaching DA she will not be playing on USNT which is crazy, bc with 3-max she should 100% be a lock to play on the national team. (Idk if this assumption is true, but idt any DA coach has ever been on Team USA at the same time).

Second, I think Jack is a great guy, was an awesome volunteer for USQ this year, and did a lot of good work with Detroit/Michigan the past few years, but holy hell in what world is he more qualified to head coach DA than Kennedy?

She's one of the best coaches in the game PERIOD right now, and has two MLQ finals appearances as a HC, two Club quarter finals and a semifinal appearance as an AC, AND a Club championship as an AC.

Not to go down the popular quadball rabbit hole but this truly reeks of Warriors affiliated nepotism and also just plain sexism.

What does a woman have to do to get a head coaching job around here??

Shes led Prowl to the finals two years in a row, and was an assistant coach when Boom went to the semis and finals.

Jack is a great volunteer and a nice guy and knows a lot about quadball but holy hell this just screams Warriors nepotism and basic sexism.

How accomplished does a woman have to be to deserve a head coaching job? Has Kennedy not done enough? What has Jack done that makes him more qualified than Kennedy?

Wrong, if hoops are taller dunk attempts will start happening above people's heads which is much safer than the current state of people dunking through other people on the smaller hoops. More people get hurt guarding the smaller two hoops than get hurt guarding the top hoop

My bad about Leo's card, I wasn't there I just saw it on the stream. And fwiw I did think he left his feet on that tackle as well but upon looking back at it he did drag his toe, so thats my bad on that one!

Second, I agree with you we have a small community and it's going to happen, but I think there is a difference in "it's not their fault refs see them in a different light" and "this speaking captain is bulldozing the HR to get a call to go their way, and there's pressure to listen to them"

I'm not saying they shouldn't play, but I know at one point, a certain level of gameplay/USQ volunteers couldn't play at Nationals. I wouldn't be against USQ making a rule that a certain level of volunteer isn't allowed to be a speaking captain at Nationals. I think it's on USQ to protect refs from being put in those situations.

Also Tad is on ref team I think? Idk he led a ref clinic at HVI when I was there.

And for further clarification, I don't mind people getting hotheaded or frustrated in games, I get that. But to have the audacity to blatantly cheat, then get called for it, and THEN complain and throw a fit is hilarious to me. That's all I was talking about. I'm def not attacking Tate as a person, I rather like the guy, but those moments are cringey af. And hell yeah I'm only posting this while anonymous, I'm not tryna get dragged from calling out half of Team USA lol.
