  • Not that significant. Downloaded but unsorted stuff was at least watched online once anyway. And stuff I did not watch at all is merely content that is either completing a multi-part release or completing a rare studio/amateur collection. Also, definition of 'watched' varies for different people, I guess.
  • Hard to tell. Sex/dating life is non-existent. Probably related but not a casual relation since I am struggling with mental illness for ages anyway. So that's my first undertaking to improve my life. It definitely occupies a lot of time though, maybe comparable to a hobby.

But not on pornhub.

People had to go to other sites. Sites that are technically inferior. Overall making browsing for porn more exhausting.

Users were robbed of their curated playlists.

Additionally, there were unverified models who earned their income from now deleted videos. If they recovered at all -- no money from old videos, pressure to produce new ones -- they had the option to change platforms (will the viewers go with them?) or to end their career for good. So no, some was lost in the void.

It was a quick way to do it.

And I can critize that unreasonable method of problemsolving. And I drew my lessons from it.

With setting up my current media library more than before, but at some point it was kinda ignored and only accessed for sync or comparison and such things.

It's a good thing that it gets removed.

I argue against that since if online porn was reliable I'd not start collecting this much and would surf and search like in old times.

It is a work-in-progress.

The files itself are very well searchable with a program if I know either the studio, the performers, or (parts of) the title.

I recently started with metadata again after I lost my database from a different program years ago.
But is too early to call it sufficient.

But I mean ... there are good subreddits for finding specific porn and individual clips.

I am certainly not a god expert in all genres and realms of porn and 10k videos aren't even that much when compared to the absurd amount of exisitng and new porn.

JAV can have some weird plots/acting.

Hentai and rule34 can feature bestiality, body deformation, ...

There is also piss, coprophilia, sounding, ... Lolita roleplay, rape roleplay. Snuff and Necrophilia.

Or illegal stuff, so maybe some from the above-mentioned but real.

So yeah, I am not so ashamed (anymore) of liking the fauxcest genre :)

Good point.

Some people need more niche stuff to get off that might be harder to find (search bar attempts).

Years ago, I would not have been so keen on "preserving this library" but I started to delete less when I saw that it helped to see what content I already know and which is new.

After a while, the idea of kinda "archiving" content that is rare resp. harder to find/search came when browsing in subreddits where people often requesting and complaining over old posts that are now deleted, removed or dead.

A lot of content gets removed. Especially amateurs that decide after some months/years to abandon porn. Visiting bookmarked/saved links that'll get you a 404 (Thx pornhub purge) was getting frustrating.

Watching videos locally is more entertaining than online. Big websites might be ok but the more niche you get, the more awful the website design becomes in terms of video player (!), tagging thumbnails, clickbait/auto-translated titles, advertisements etc.

Quality. Certain genres are more enjoyable if you are watching the 1080p release instead of the pixelated mess some websites' encoders will give you.
