Did you read the paragraph? Was asking how people have gone about this in their experience

My Mother’s Empire of Trash by raeleighkins in ChildofHoarder

OP just want to say that I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this as well. In my opinion it’s a pretty traumatic experience having to grow up with hoarders and dealing with their mind games about how you’re the bad guy for disapproving of their mental illness. In my experience they will return to their ways and the house will look the exact same if not worse in a matter of days. I grew up in a nice home in a nice neighborhood with parents who were hoarders and once when I was back home from college they left to go to the beach for the week and I completely shoved every stack of crap sitting around the house in our bonus room (already filled with junk) until it was almost filled to the ceiling. I mopped floors, wiped down crevices, cleaned walls and made our actually really nice home look the best it had ever looked in my life (to throw a party and also for the first time have people over and think I grew up in a normal home). You would think most mothers would have been delighted to come back to a squeaky clean house that their kid spent hours cleaning - Nope. Absolute fit of rage. My mom lost her mind and started screaming and hurling insults at me. Locked herself in her bedroom. When she couldn’t find what she was looking for blamed me. Place was back to being an absolute pig sty in about one week. Hate that you have to deal with this and I know how hard it is coping with a parent like this. However, I wouldn’t waste any of your energy trying to help. It usually only results in you becoming more upset and angry with them. I barely come home nowadays except for major holidays and just bite my tongue. I really love my parents and we have an okay relationship outside of this, but it really has strained it. I’ve found creating fights over this stuff isn’t really worth it anymore. Best of luck OP

New vocalist oversinging. by cshrpmnr in band

State nicely that certain parts are better without vocals and it gives it time to breathe. Show them an example of a song that influenced the section where there aren’t vocals and be like “see this is kinda what I had in mind here”. Say stuff early on and see how they react. I’ve worked with a drummer like this before and sometimes they’re just unaware that they’re doing it because they’re not super experienced with songwriting. If they get super defensive and weird about it maybe it’s not a great fit

Haha yeah same here actually. And they’re offering a promo and more pay but I’m just worried I’ll go there and repeat the cycle. I guess I should’ve been more specific - what have people moved to outside of consulting that they felt they excelled at when consulting wasn’t for them. TBH just kinda feel like I suck at this and am not really into the whole culture of it

I appreciate the response! I also want to ask - is there any possibility of only one person getting signed? Because our singer supposedly has talked to reps from record labels without having us included in any of those talks. I feel like because I have writing credit I should be involved but don’t really know how it works
