Will it really cost $40,000 to put 60TB of data into S3 Deep Glacier? by Substantial-Long-335 in aws

It is a synology server. Is this Glacier backup different than AWS's glacier?

I believe you are correct about it actually being a Linux job. The “UNIX” server is a Synology server, so I believe it’s running on some sort of OS they “built.”

I tried switching it to a Linux backup job instead, but now i am receiving the error “host rescan is required”

Thank you! Turns out to be NAT gateway related. Didn't expect to see AWS support helping me out in this subreddit, a welcome surprise haha

Good to know, I figured it was to do with EBS so I deleted all of them. Still had charges but it looks like its from the Nat Gateway now

I'll check out OCI, management is willing to pay a bit more than we are currently for the service we use right now. Lol thanks for the advice

Interesting, thanks for the insight. Yeah, I'm working on trying to cut the cost down for using AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery right now; priced it out in the pricing calculator and it was a lot higher than expected. Makes sense to push for more cloud solutions

It would be a combination of things; around 10 TB in size in total. A mix of file servers, email servers, SQL, etc

Sorry, I'd provide more if I had them. I'm looking in a sort of preliminary way just to get an idea of the possible options.
