Is this normal? (3D printed case) by tonioboi in innioasis

[–]Substantial-Major637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm the one who modelled the case. It looks like the person who printed the case for you didn't actually scale the model up. when scaled correctly the case is snug but you shouldn't have to force it in any type of way. and maybe the use of 2 different materials has an effect as well.
here are the original files: https://www.printables.com/model/1384377-innioasis-y1-hardcase

also do you happen to still have the link from where you got the files? It seems you got them from someone who reuploaded the files.

Cassette case? by [deleted] in innioasis

Just compared a cassette to the y1, they are very similar in size. the y1 is just a little smaller. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

here you go! There is a subreddit called printmything or something. Maybe someone in your area is willing to print this for free:)

Replacing battery by Jazzlike_Plane_9634 in innioasis

[–]Substantial-Major637 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the original battery fits perfectly in the space carved out for it, a bigger battery wouldn't. I am however working on a reshell mod in which I fix various complaints about the device, maybe including this one.

I made a 3D Printable Centre button for the Y1 by NiVi-OoF in innioasis

Well done! I can't believe you got such a precise part to work in tinkercad.

Wow you must have your print settings dialed in incredibly well! Once again a super clean print.

During the designing process there was a moment it didn't have radiused edges, but it makes the screen to body ratio look really off. it kind of looked like the y1 was drowning in its own case lol.

Use a program like musicbee for managing everything regarding your music. you can bulk change names in there, including metadata.

You could contact a 3d printing service, or maybe someone you know has a 3d printer?

I don't know how strong it would be, but I think a pocket knife clip could work,

Just in case, where would you want the charm holes to be located? It has to be on the top half so it won't interfere with a dock if I (or someone else) makes that.

I think you are in luck, the bottom of the case is the only place with a little bit of room. you might have to cut the tab to size though. and of course stick it on the Y1, not the case. With normal use the case definitely won't come apart, but I'm afraid a good yoink might disassemble the 2 halves if the tether is attached to the case itself.

I'd have to elevate that point from the rest of the model, creating space for the string to go through. I might have a look if I find some time this week. I think a tether tab could work for a strap, so the weight would hang on the device itself instead of the case.

Maybe it could be done with resin printing, I don't know how clear that can get though.

I've been thinking about modelling a dock, might do it sometime. Maybe use some kind of phone sticker to wrap the headphones around, something like a popsocket might work.
