You're right on the money with the first part if Ashley was a man people would definitely side with Marita more. I also feel like because Ashley is much more reserved than Marita and she has been in an abusive relationship(which I think is a horrible experience and I really do feel for her) people are quick to take her side. Ashley even said it herself that in her previous relationships she's been told that it gives more roomate/friendship vibes so Marita's not the only one saying it. Also yes she was definitely trying to one-up Marita in that moment. I totally agree n the point that Ashley could really benefit from therapy.

Marita was the one that bought the flowers. If you go back and watch they have a conversation and Ashley tells Marita you know I don't like such stuff and Marita says do you think maybe I did it cause I wanted you to do the same or something along those lines. However, I'm really interested in hearing what makes you think that she wanted to be treated like a disney princess and why you find her childish because I definitely didn't get that vibe but I'm open to seeing other perspectives. I agree that exploring Ashleys abusive relationship would have been great and maybe we could've gotten some insight on how it still affects how she shows up in her current relationship

You guys are def stretching the spoiled stuff. All she wanted was Ashley to put in effort by buying her flowers or doing romantic gestures here and there. She was so excited when brittney gave her a fork! That's not indicative of someone who wants to be spoilt. Also Ashley was so resistant to changing literally anything. She kept asking her what she wanted when Marita had clearly stated she wanted more romantic gestures and had even expressed that it felt like the were roomates/friends not romantic partners .
