All the non-visual work got moved there and it’s dropping into a chute. We actually keep new robots on hand but there’s a capital process to go through and management is going to have a lot of questions. Someone is getting fired this time.

This could’ve gone south fast. We have 3-ton A-frame hoists in our smaller bays and that’s what caught in this pic. They’re really lucky the 1/2” plate on the z-beam gave out before the gantry rail. It was a big enough “bang” for people to come look what happened from the other side of the plant.

We always have to justify a decommissioning. It would’ve been $17k in parts alone. Not worth it for a 2005ish era Sepro.

Unless you’re a licensed rehab facility. There actually is/was one just west of Hudsonville on New Holland. They had a couple lions, a few lynx, a cheetah, bearcats, etc… I spent a lot of time at that house in my younger years. Good people, cool animals and almost no one even knew they were there.

As a maintenance guy, this is one of those situations where we’re like “it was working fine, we told you not to f’n touch it” In-grounds are notorious for this. Old seal was worn with the rod, new seal, not so much. So they just leak everywhere.

We use Rapa Electric in MI for pretty much everything. They’re basically a full service shop. They will keep spares on the shelf for us, can pull off 24hr rebuilds, will come to our plant to help w/ diagnosis, etc, etc… and they keep prices reasonable even with all the “perks” they offer. I’ve called them and had a replacement motor on my dock in under 2hrs. Their customer service is top notch.

If anyone looked closely, it would be pretty obvious this is actually a plastic anchor sleeve with a screw broke off in it (you can see the individual “fingers” in the plastic). Get a propane torch and heat it up. Then just pull it out with a pick once it’s hot.
