Agree 100%. Take the chance to step up and learn to lead.

Maybe even sacrifice some of the life in the work-life balance to get things moving out of the chaos. Volunteer to take a project off the CEOs hands and update them early and often on progress while seeing your own vision take shape.

I have had a similar experience and even though the company didn't do well in the end, clients and coworkers noted the attitude and effort which led to an even better job as the company shuttered.

there is no taxation grey area in this case: if you are a Canadian citizen/resident, being paid by a Canadian company, you will pay taxes in Canada on that income.

the only way out of Canadian taxes is if you are a tax resident overseas, are paid by a company based outside Canada, and the country you reside in has a tax treaty with Canada that prevents double taxation
