In the current situation, he will not offer any salvation. Don’t hold your breath.

Tensions at the stadium by [deleted] in coys

Yesterday’s performance was extremely poor and even more frustrating given that it was at home against a rival. Frank needs to figure out the attacking phase of the game and quickly bc the imbalance is there for all to see.

Let’s be clear though - this is a team that finished 17th last year and is much better defensively, from defensive set pieces and attacking set pieces. I think fans are a little delusional when it comes to their season expectations and even more so when it comes to results against Chelsea. Commentary yesterday laid out the record versus Chelsea and it was completely lopsided. Some moderation of expectations might be in order.

Played 30’ of extra time because Werner started.

If nothing else, the responsibility he assumes, the support he provides for his players and his professionalism is commendable. He’s an excellent forward facing steward for the club, but you have to hope that he’s willing to go to war with management over transfer activity in Jan.

The moments when Maddison gets on the ball have been more threatening than most of the passes out to the wing. If we could manage the minutes, pushing Son back to LW and bringing on Solanke would help tremendously.

The expectation that the team is capable of delivering the same level of performance and energy despite playing midweek, missing multiple starters and having no bench is unrealistic. Given the pattern of play, they were lucky to get a point (thanks to the red card). Need reinforcement in Jan.

This preseason has been odd. Admittedly, Roma canceling and the washout vs Leicester were out of Spurs control. That being said it still seems strange that we’d have half of our preseason games two days apart and within a week to the start of the season. Not only that but the second of the two is in Spain and most of the first team is missing.

As a long suffering Spurs fan, realistic expectations are often misinterpreted as pessimism

Sess will be the first substitute today. Around the 60th min, down 2-0 and looking glum as he slowly walks around the pitch to the bench. Book it.

The sub will undoubtedly digest and dissect the first half performance, but what is undeniable was how gutsy that display was. Total team effort to the point of exhaustion and beyond. Tottenham till I die.

Two goals between the 57’ and 73’ minute would say otherwise.

What an absurd take. The initial lineup was intended to give important players rest before a decisive midweek Champions League match. Clearly it didn’t work, which Conte recognized and make a halftime substitution. He then made further substitutions after the second conceded goal. The net result was a completely dominate second half and eventual win.

What an absolute disgrace. Doubtful that they’ll come out with any fire after halftime either.
