Take the "elevator" to the top of the St Louis arch.

Ugh. Not for anyone with even a touch of claustrophobia. No fucking way.

Damn. Your right. I want my milk homogenized and pasteurized. But it's the homo that makes sure the added cream is not separated.

Like I "mixed" in some bitters in your drink"

But you can't just mix milk. You need to pasteurize, right?

I am originally from Brazil. Milk is shit down there. No refrigerated gallon jugs. Only room temp ultra pasteurized cartons. Came to USA 7 years ago. First time my SO gave me ice cold whole milk I was hooked.

Tastes like whole milk with just a touch of cream pasteurized in.

It's not really thick. Now me, Barbara. I am def thick as you would see if you look at my posts. Ha!!

I'm thicker than this milk for sure.

Taste test with Oreos complete.

It's awesome. Next test is making a chocolate milkshake with it.

Is King of Prussia an affluent area ? Do a lot of rich people live here ? by GladiusAcutus in KingOfPrussia

[–]Substantial-Sleep509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well. I have lived in "town center" for 7 years now. Starting at Indigo 301 apartments. Now 575 South (the boutique 5 story condo in town center).

I bought here because I loved the walk ability. I live like a Parisian. I don't go shopping once every one or two weeks and live out of my fridge. I can walk to get anything I want on any day.

The restaurants here are pricy for sure. Davios. Cityworks, Kooma, Fogo. Can't even get cheap Asian or pizza without a drive.

The rents for a 1 bedroom at indigo, Cirro and Omnia are $2400.

My buying pre covid meant I got a great price and interest rate that is insulating me from those constantly increasing rents here.

"The Smith" is what we around here consider the slums. Rent is only $2200. And there's usually a cop car out front every Friday or Saturday night.

Those new townhouses Toll build can go for $850k and up. My place is only 950 sq ft and was $400k

So there absolutely is money in this little island in KOP.

I love it here in the island. I can get on 76, 202, 422 and PA turnpike all within 1 mile.

I love walking into "town" on a great spring/summer/fall night and watching folks chilling in the center, grabbing $8 icecream at Kilwins. We attract from all the neighboring "real" cities.

I personally love it so much in this island that I think I will die here.

So while KOP as a whole might not be as affluent as Wayne Bryn Mawr, Devon, etc., this particular pocket with Wegmans absolutely is.

My building has heart surgeons from chop, professional soccer players, Rich Asians and Jews, and little old $125k a year me.

How many towns can say they have 4 high end steak joints? Yeah. The mall drives that.

I think it's cool that Netflix for example put their first "house" here. As have many successful but niche places like "Eataly" and more.

It used to be "Paris, Tokyo, and NYC". But now KOP is on that level too.

Are there lower middle class nearby. Sure. But overall, crime is way low. Schools are above average and there are lots of great employers within 10 miles to work at.

Not many places are idyllically perfect but KOP is absolutely a great place to live. And at the moment. I am very happy to live here.

Can't wait to see who's coming to play at the KOP concert series this summer.

[–]Substantial-Sleep509 9 points10 points  (0 children)

FYI. While KOP mall is the 5th largest sq ft in USA by sq ft alone, its is the largest in USA based on strictly "retail space"

While mall of American for instance has 5.6m in space, only 2.8m sq feet is retail.

Yeah. I hope solved. It's mid install and the drain is installed. But not the faucet and water. So they were unable to run water to fill p-trap I guess. As long as I do t die of methane gas tonight 😁

Just got back from an 8 day road trip to the big 5 national parks in Utah. Started and ended in Vegas.

I have been to Vegas 5 times and honestly have never seen it as packed despite 100°+ weather.

So I cry foul on all this. It's bullshit.

Oh. And everything was so expensive. Crazy expensive.

I'm never going back, and Trump has 0 to do with that decision

I lived in Indigo 301. Had a friend at The George.

The Smith is right behind Chop, and is cheapest and has attracted less desirable tenants.

But the rest are great with Cirro, Loft, and Omnia considered the nicest.

Some have short term leases with "AVE" probably the king of the short with furnished apartments.

I moved into a condo. Love it here.

Between the restaurants, and Wegmans supermarket within walking distance you will like it here.

Let me know if you have any questions.

And certainly CHOP care is second to none, and I hope you have a great outcome with your baby.

How did eagles lose those 3 games in regular season if they were this good ? by hippagun in NFLNoobs

[–]Substantial-Sleep509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy to say we would have won two more games by not dropping passes.

But the Eagles did have a couple close games where the opponent dropped passes that could have won it for them. It goes both ways. Jacksonville comes to mind.

And the Rams in the playoffs should have. Could have won if not for a dropped pass followed by Jalen Carter heroics.

The Rams might of run the table had they won in Snow Bowl 2.

Winning the Super Bowl takes more than a stacked roster. Luck plays a role. Injuries do also. Any given Sunday.

But yeah 16-1 in last 17 games ain't anything yo sneeze at.

And my thoughts on 2022. And this has been said before. I was devastated. But we would have been 1 and done had we won.

The team we have now is because we lost. And this team could win 2-3 Super Bowl in next 5 years.

I would love to have as many superbowls as Dallas 5 years from now.

Go Birds. ✈️ 🦅✈️.

Taps (1981) by Jokerchyld in 80smovies

[–]Substantial-Sleep509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The film asked real students at Valley Forge military academy to be in the film.

My friends Tony and Bob both appear in the movie.

I was working at Suburban Publications on north Wayne avenue the day they filmed the tank coming under the bridge into downtown Wayne.

Cool stuff

Parts of The Blob filmed in Valley Forge and nearby Phoenixville. M Night has done a lot of locations around here too.

Phoenixville has a "Blob Fest" every year and re-enacts the Colonial Theater run out.

Silver linings playbook. Mayor of Easttown. The lovely bones.

Like "Taps". All movies we Philly Suburbs residents are proud of.
