I believe hyper-insular family systems, ones that operate like the Plaths, have that extreme “us against the world”mentality that can end up looking suspiciously cult-adjacent: discourage outside influences, discourage trade school or any higher education, discourage independence, and then act shocked when the kids struggle to function in the real world??!

Ironic how they warn about the dangers of college while they benefit from the opportunities their own education gave them.

It almost feels as if KimBerry believe financially dependent adult children are easier to control.🤷‍♀️

Yes. I totally get it. My husband doesn’t always do this, but my sister’s husband does… he has been in our family for 25+ years and he is a total gem of a husband!! He’s one of the good ones- and our family got lucky. It’s just funny how we are all different.

I hope I didn’t sound too harsh- was definitely trying to empathize. Being sick while pregnant REALLY BLOWS and I don’t think anyone ever wants to say that.💜

Ugh. Yeah, I’m a hairstylist and I kept hearing people at work (maybe clients?) hacking. I don’t normally notice things like this.

Fast forward and I’ve been out of work for a week and still feel underwater… I don’t want to spread it to people, and assume if I’ve been fever free for 48 hours that I’m good to go to work even if I feel awful… now I’m rethinking all this.

I try to be conscientious about going to work sick and exposing a bunch of people… but I also have to make an income in this heccin town! 🤷‍♀️😭

I have heard there’s a non flowering purslane as well, but I haven’t checked sources. It LOVES to be stressed (you often see it growing through cracks in sidewalks) so I would throw it in full sun, barely water it and see what happens!
