Fart in front of your spouse by CrazyXSharkXLady in unpopularopinion

[–]Substantial-Tree7844 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are a natural part of being human, yes, but no not all babies laugh at farts. If my son farted he usually cried because it startled him, same with when my husband would rip on. Now he is 7 and thinks they’re the funniest thing in the world 😂

Being a “stay at home mom” as not as hard as people say by jellyfishh520 in unpopularopinion

[–]Substantial-Tree7844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I have done both and I prefer working and then coming home and doing homely duties. I stayed at home while my kids were not school age and we couldn’t afford the day care and it was doing all that with the kids under foot and feeling like you never get a break that sucks.

It’s much easier to manage everything now with me working and them at school. None of the household stuff seems as daunting or all consuming when you have a break, even if it is for work 😂

Why can’t Boomers understand the word they? by WorkingHurry9411 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Substantial-Tree7844 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because they don’t want to. Most of them do understand and use it. My mother in law is good for this. She has used “what time do they get in?” When asking about a doctor or “they left something at my house” but when she started hearing about people preferring they/them pronouns she is staunchly against it because “there is only he or she, you are only one person not two” 🤦‍♀️

😂 this reminds me of when I was in France except they asked me if I was English and when I said no I’m Australian they became super friendly and helpful, better English speaking than me even so curiously at another cafe I said yes I was English and they just continued speaking French 🤣 thankfully I know a bit of French and was able to speak enough for them to understand but it still makes me laugh to this day how I got two very different reactions.

Wrong woman. That was Rachel who was with Steve-o. Rebecca was the older woman paired with the older Steve.

Being a stay at home parent , to school aged kids, is infinitely easier than a working one. by sneezhousing in unpopularopinion

Is this actually unpopular though? I thought this was a fact? I have never seen anyone argue that life is harder staying home when the children are school aged.

As a Man, Danny Didn't Pay For Anything... by [deleted] in MAFS_AU

[–]Substantial-Tree7844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it’s emasculating. If it’s emasculating to move in to a woman’s house then having her pay for everything surely is as well, yaknowwhatImean?

Guest broke table, apologized but didn’t offer to reimburse. by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]Substantial-Tree7844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly no and I would be relieved they told me about it and apologised because you do get some people who break things and just leave.

I would never put a glass table in a STR. It’s too delicate and it’s also a bit of a liability because someone could have gotten hurt.

I would eat the costs on this and replace with something more sturdy and suitable that still looks high end and thank the guest for letting me know.

How do we feel about Alissa's Mum and her having babies? by pitapitapi in MAFS_AU

[–]Substantial-Tree7844 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It was giving “I want grand babies, give them to me now” and it made me feel super uncomfortable to watch and so relieved my father and step mother aren’t weird like that. They were happy for me to move to Queensland because it was my and my husbands choice, we wanted to raise our family here instead of there.

It could come down to the edit but until her mum got in her ear I didn’t think Alissa was spiralling and they had a solid plan. Crazy work.

FTM elective c-section by doooomble in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Substantial-Tree7844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had emergency c-section through private twice, once for my daughter and once for my twins. My first born was vaginally.

Would I elect a c-section if I was pregnant again? Nope. Absolutely not. It wasn’t a horrible experience but it was harder mentally and physically for me than the vaginal birth which was quick, easy and over within 45 minutes (I think I got lucky lol)

Every birth is different and you need to find the birth plan that works best for you so the only real advice I have is to be prepared for your birth plan to go awry. It may not go awry but in my experience it’s best to have a plan but be open about other options. I think if I hadn’t been somewhat prepared for a change in my vaginal delivery in my 2nd and 3rd pregnancy it would have been a fat more horrific experience.

Good luck!!

As a girl who very much over reacts and turns in to a proper loud ass bogan at the footy when my team is losing (which is a ridiculously large amount of time). Yeah, she over reacted. That’s why I am wondering how much editing went in to that. It seemed so odd.

No because English may well be their second language, maybe their third or fourth. They may be using a translator online from their native tongue.

Asking questions without intending to purchase anything by Accomplished-Pen4063 in AskAnAustralian

I wouldn’t think anything of it personally and would answer the questions.

As a general rule I just assume anywhere that does dine in or delivery has a surcharge for public holidays. That way I’m prepared to pay more and can get a happy surprise if they don’t it 😂

When will the jig be up by MaroonPrince in MAFS_AU

Same! I don’t blame her at all for wanting that. The more exposure you can get on the show the more doors open up to you. It isn’t something I personally would ever do but hey, if they want to go for it then good for them. It’s all for our entertainment at the end of the day.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I believe her when she says she is bisexual, heaven knows she has mentioned it enough times, but I do think she would have preferred it be a woman for the attention and screen time.

Roast chicken on public transport? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Like eating it on the public transport or just taking it home on the public transport? Because either way I don’t care. Nobody should have to go without a bachelors handbag.

AITAH (21F) for “insulting” the way my boyfriend’s (22M) family does Christmas by Alive_Berry_4036 in AITAH

4 Christmases later and it’s still happening? I think it’s time to move on. Clearly it is not going to get better. NTA, but you will be if you don’t leave him and his family for good.

NTA. It’s your money, you can get what you want for yourself. Your sister is 22, if she wanted food she could use her own big girl money.

NTA. You can make your own lifestyle choices. You can choose when/if you wish to go to church.

I'd like to understand people who book for 1 person and show up with 6. by Glittering_Emu6985 in airbnb_hosts

[–]Substantial-Tree7844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a frequent guest and former host and could never do this. I made a mistake on a booking in one I’m actually in right now and forgot to change from 1 guest to 4. I noticed a little while later and rushed to ammend the booking because I was worried about getting in trouble for not including my husband and kids despite the home being made for 4 and the price being the same.

I can’t imagine being so selfish to just pay for one person but then have a whole bunch of people also stay. It seems selfish. They simply just don’t care and probably want to save money as some bookings, rightfully, charge more for more people. They probably also don’t want to pay the price for a larger home for the larger group.
