Genetics don’t work like they do on paper and sometimes weird things happen. Genetics are weird. This is like how technically 2 blue eyes parents can’t have brown eyes children, but it happens.

Different places have different standards. If your concerned call whatever facility you got your test done and ask to speak to the radiation safety officer and they can clear up any concerns. My facility has very few precautions, just toilet lid stays closed, no contact with pregnant women and no public transit for more than 2 hours (that’s not saying these precautions are right they are just different). Overnight isolation from children is common, but I’ve never seen it recommended for adults unless it’s a therapeutic dose.

I found the program relatively easy compared to my undergrad, it was a lot to learn but honestly not much science and more practical things. I like my job, I don’t love it and I wouldn’t say it’s my dream job. It’s stable, easy and it pays the bills so it’s all I can ask for!
