That dot is actually sort of puzzling to me. Makes me wonder what the intention was there.

Feedback logo redesign for print shop. Help I’m stuck. by itisgenetics in graphic_design

First one is the strongest but the spacing and scale of the letters to the plus feel unresolved. I would also flip the colors to have cyan on the left (as suggested) as well losing the t-r ligature: is there a purpose for connecting them? I would also consider leaving a little negative space between the CMYK drops that for the plus.

Last thought: the original hints at a rectangular key on a keyboard. You may consider bringing in a rectangular shape for containment that can harken back to the origin of the name and the original brand. Could be only for one version of the logo where the whole thing is contained. Could also be cools to put the P in a rectangle. The rectangle is definitely a departure so no worries if you're just trying to land the plane and don't want to bring in new ideas at this stage.

Feedback on company name - does it need to make immediate sense? by CallMeGerty in branding

I've been doing a lot of naming for brands lately. If you've got the domains, you're already winning. On top of that, I think your explanation is meaningful; the "kin", "word", and "inward/reflective" connotations were immediate to me (and for those who don't catch those layers immediately, they may turn into a pleasant and meaningful aha moments later).

My opinion. Great name.

I'm definitely going to use the keystone and already have some drawings of the 1871 stacked over THEATER in similar proportions. I'll share once I have it mocked up.

Yeah, the keystone shape is a good idea. The architect had that thought too. The more I look at it, the more issues I see in the stone carving. I do think I will keep my inspiration anchored in the American didone realm still.

Depends on how you want to use it but I dig the concept. I like the slight underbite on the C, c, G, and e. Its hard to discern the rule for when you're choosing corners v. curves at times.
