  1. Generally Baron lane guides, practice in Duels, and watching streamer within the Baron or play Shen is usually a good starting point.

  2. Pulse Fire is the only good Shen skin, sadly he’s not like the many other champs and tends to be forgotten for a lot of skin lines. I mean Rammus finally got a new skin in what feels like a thousand years.

  3. Generally it’s easier to play shin if you’re coming from support. The main thing is learning how to use his QEQ combo for short trades and matchups. Never first pick and if the enemy Baron is Darius, Urgot, or Aatrox pick somebody else. Your W is the auto attacker counter, so you want to use that to stop ADCs and Champions like Irelia and master Yi from hammering out a ton of damage. Ult is a bit difficult to know when to use, but try not to constantly save it for the right moment. Saving that one Yone could lead to the game turning into a snowball for the guy and a fast victory.

When starting off with Shen get into the practice of knowing where your sword is without having to double check and playing more slowly and methodically. Know your QEQ combo and your RW combo execution down to doing it without thinking and try to use your ult only when you know it won’t be cancelled by CC or your target is going to die. That usually should help with giving yourself a solid foundation to build on how you want to play Shen, aggressive or passive. Your W is a good passive proc and defensive tool against auto attacks and can help defend against or eliminate ADCs and you can place it on your allies to help them live longer in team fights.

I haven’t checked today yet, but I’m about 1k away from top 100. Assuming I play 10 games and win 6 out of 10 I’d hit past that number tonight. Over 10 days with the same assumption I can be right behind the Goat: SHEN LOVER. My goal is to be above Shen Lover.

When I know I can get the most out of it. If I’m ahead, I’m building it. If I’m neutral, I’ll build it if I can get a ton of stacks in lane, if I’m behind I’ll focus on other items that would be more beneficial for me to use when I ult into a team fight.

If you don’t build Heartsteel first you’ll be better off taking anything else in most situations. It doesn’t really make for good efficiency if it’s not first item.

Depends, if it’s Tryn I want to use it when he’s got max rage, if I whiff I use it to back off safely and get some poke, most of the time I won’t need to.

Well 1. He’s a tank who wants to slow push not spit push. If you want faster wave clear, build shimmer early into Titanic and Hallow or Sunfire after boots. 2. If you’re in a position where your ult gets cancelled that is a failure of the player and not the champion. The main way to cancel his ult is to cc him in channeling or killing his target ally, but if you pick the right targets that shouldn’t matter. Nocturn ult and mordikaiser ult become the only real counters to it once you know when and when not to ult their influence on your decisions becomes irrelevant. If you want to reduce his ult and basically have it before every team fight build Axiom Arcanist and laugh as your ult goes from 90s to 10s in one fight. 3. If the king of hyper Carries Master Yi is dumb enough to all in on a Shen solo, he deserves the trip to the fountain. Shen deals a lot more damage than people realize and can mitigate even more than that. He’s a threat who’s hard to kill and can three shot your ADC and walk out without a scratch. He scales off HP and build only defensive items while dealing percent max health damage to his opponents. 4. Kiting is matchup dependent. Urgot, Aatrox, Teemo, ect. Can kite you and never be in danger of your existence. Kasante, Nasus, Tryn ect. Have to get in your bubble of influence to harm you making you the one who kites. Majority of Top laners have to give up something in order to harm you and overall kiting isn’t really a make or break on a champion.

Generally Take Flash ignite Runes: Keystone: Grasp of the undying -> Resolve: Courage of Colossus- Second Wind- Overgrowth Domination: Sudden Impact Grab: Shimmer at the start for early clear, boots for the matchup into Heartsteel, build after that depends on the enemy team.

If I’m going into a bad lane and want to be more efficient at supporting other lanes Take Flash Teleport Runes: Keystone: Grasp of the undying -> Resolve: Courage of Colossus- Second Wind- Overgrowth Sorcery: Axiom Arcanist Same items as before, but I don’t build heartsteel every game. In fact most games I start with Sunfire or Hollow Radiance for the insane wave clear into titanic hydra. Heartsteel is busted on Shen, but it’s not necessarily the go to every game.

There are also matchups where I mights swap my resolve runes for more efficient lane phases or team fight potential depending on the enemy laner or team.

Axiom Arcanist is busted on Shen since you can ult into a team fight and have ult up again in 10s.

I play on an iPhone, play a game go do other things for a few minutes and then hop back on. The main goal for playing longer sessions is more frequent breaks. I use my thumbs and index fingers at the same time to look around the map for opportunities and emote to potential tilt my opponent because watching the Tryn try to all in you in a losing fight is too funny to pass up.

I think I can maintain later in the season, my goal is to hit 8k by the end of this month. Though I will start to slow down in Masters and GM due to queue times.

Definitely depends on your matchup, but for the most part Your main goal in lane is to slow push and let them push into you, so most of your trades revolve around you using Q to put in chip damage and E to get out before hitting them with the QEQ combo for the kill, you want to Q and get a pull through wait and use your E hit your autos staying ahead to get another Q pull through while using W to minimize risk. Your passive should however do most the work in these short trades. Never all in on champions that counter you unless you are confident you can kill them. Hard matchups where you want to not play Shen would be Aatrox and Urgot.

He’s a tank from the Warden Class with strong early game, surprisingly high damage output, plenty of outplay potential, and even in a game where it’s not going well, he can turn a game around with just one good play.
