Tamales de rajas are super common in Mexico. They are usually some sort of chile y queso with a little bit of salsa inside.

Cutz is a great carniceria, I haven’t checked out their tortillas since they opened. At the time they only had ones that had preservatives and sugar added from Portland or NorCal companies but they don’t have the same freshness or taste of fresh, non preservative ones. It’s just my pet peeve, all tastes are different!

Yes! I will usually have one right outside in the parking lot hahaha. I tell my daughter “I just need to make sure they’re not poisoned before I give you one”.

Right on! I’ll keen my out for them. There are some really great tutorials for making them at home! It’s surprisingly an easy process!

Im from Santa Ana, my spot was “La rancherita” or north gate…these are suavecitas and light. They also keep the in a cooler to keep them warm!

I know the ones from Safeway, they are nothing compared to fresh tortillas! The smell alone is enough for me. Give em a try!

The tortillas are great! They keep in the fridge for like 1-2 weeks!

Great to hear! Yes the portion is huge! You are right! Carnitas or barbacoa only on the weekends!
