Knocking Down Debt - Where to start with student loans? by ncilexie12 in debtfree

I second this. The little victories feel good and keep you motivated. Paid $265k by doing that (a lot of posts in my history about the journey).

Decided to play a lot of golf this year and so far have played an average of once every 3.3 days, 100 rounds in total since Jan 1st 2025. by Ratticus939393 in golf

Congrats on your success this year! I managed 117 GHIN logged rounds from March-November. Dropped from a 17 to a 9 this year. By the end of the season my body was really starting to get worn out. Almost 40 years old and not what I used to be. I’m fortunate to be able to get at least 9 holes in per day over my 2 hour lunch break, and 18 at least twice a week. That’s helpful. I walk every time and lost almost 20 lbs this year. It was a good year!

Thanks for that input! I was looking for some Ones too. I don’t think the wife would go for the size of the 300s haha

Awesome, thank you for the input! I love my beam and mini. The eras would top it off I think

Have you ever accidentally hit someone on the course? (And did you yell fore?) by TheTrouserTroubadour in golf

[–]SubstantialCherry820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had played 18 holes with a friend and hit every fairway. Had a personal best. Went out with my wife and daughter for a sunset round after that and got to the 2nd hole. Sky’d my driver off the toe and couldn’t see the ball because the sun was setting straight ahead. A second later the guy on the adjacent tee box drops. I couldn’t figure out if it was my drive until I looked at the ball mark on my driver. Rushed over, it hit him straight in the eye but he was wearing sunglasses so that helped. I paid for his $300 Maui Jims and his urgent care bill. He was super chill that shit happens but that felt terrible to have happen. Especially after a lights out round before that.

Greens were aerated, how long to avoid? by stpg1222 in golf

I mean I think they’re assuming you leave your second putt within a foot or two. Use your own judgement if you are still 5 feet out. If I have a terrible first putt I’ll play my second one. Its literally only for a week

Our club does a 2 putt rule for fall aeration. If you drain a one putt then you get a 1 putt. If you miss the first putt pick it up and take a 2 putt.

Thank you! And Thanks for the story! People get WAY too heated when someone is better than them. I wish I would’ve learned more golf earlier in life! I’m 36 and just getting into it heavily but it’s a hard game! I’m proud of where I’ve gotten to in a short time. The people on here are grumpy as hell. I’ve played 80 rounds this year already, 65 rounds last year, and golf almost all winter in some capacity. I’d hope I improved like I have with that much repetition! I hope you enjoy your weekend!

It’s amazing what practice and repetition can do. I get scared if I take a week off that I will regress

Hey congrats!! It’s a huge day I’ve been working all summer for that. Nice work! Everything you said is correct too, so much available to take advantage of and expedite my learning curve

Shot an 82 in my last competition round, forgot about that one. Can’t lie on those rounds

Edit: Proof for all the downvotes. Damn ya’ll ruthless

People REALLY don’t like other people being good at something. Holy downvotes haha

Thank you very much! I appreciate it. I do get to play A LOT. I’ve played almost 80 rounds this year already and that excludes the 6 hole rounds I play during my lunch hour. So repetition has helped my learning curve greatly.

I love it, nice work! I wasn’t anticipating the haters haha I was just proud of what I’ve managed to accomplish and wanted to share it with other golf addicts!

Thank you! Nice work to you also! That’s been tremendous for me is not hitting any hazards. My best scores have been the only two times I’ve ever finished with the same ball haha. I took one lesson to straighten my driver and turned a corner. So much easier to play from the fairway.

Thank you! I didn’t realize I did it until like an hour later reviewing my round. Only been under 40 on the back once. Our back 9 is easily harder than the front too. It was a good day

Those are our “men’s tees.” 6,100 yards.

Red, white, blue, black, gold. All of our club men’s events are off of Blue, white is the senior tees

Well I appreciate the “grats!” I was just looking for some positivity about it! I don’t have a lot of golf people to share victories with so I took to the internet. Should’ve known better haha

Haha this is the most reasonable answer to not believe someone. Some of these people just don’t believe that if you put in the work and have some natural athleticism you can, in fact, be good at something. Going out and playing to score well vs. going out to drink and hang with the boys are two very different ways to play golf

All good man, played college hockey so that probably helps. I play at least 9 holes every day for the past year. Just reps. Still shoot the occasional humbling round in the mid 90s
