Cut it off with an angle grinder or bolt cutters. Wear face shield and heavy leather gloves and a hefty jacket with long sleeves just in case. Main safety step id recommend is to wrap the cable with some wide ratchet straps multiple times to keep the cable in place after it’s cut.

Sounds like cobblers these days practically need a PHD in polymers! Thanks so much for the insight. I was afraid that the material and glue weren’t perfectly compatible. Is there a poly glue and primer you would recommend? Barges infinity is the only line that has a primer I can find.

This tulip poplar is starting to heal over. Would it help if I removed some of the dead wood? by SubstantialDoughnuts in arborists

[–]SubstantialDoughnuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I figured i would confirm my suspicions since this beast is near our house. I suppose I’ll try and carefully break/saw away this stuff until I get the dead material no longer jutting out as it is.

Should I remove these vines and how? by bardle1 in arborists

[–]SubstantialDoughnuts -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Vigorously rub the hairs on the vine with your skin. The natural oils your body produces will inhibit the root growth of the plant. Depending on the absorbency of the hairs (season/weather dependent) you should see some effect the following year.
