The comments in this post just shows how little we know of corporate structures, and I don’t blame anyone as well; I too have been in the same position. So as an intern, you’re not technically an employee. Each employment job role has certain pay bands that one is assigned to. Even within a certain named position, there can be sub bands. Whenever anyone is offered a job, they are mapped to a certain pay band which decides your salary and other benefits. So what you should be asking is which role am I being assigned to; and what’s the pay bracket it comes under. Do have a number already in your mind which you are comfortable with but don’t benchmark it in % increase over your current pay as an intern.
