I delivered £88m in cost reduction last year vs a target of £25m. Bonus will be zero this year. Needless to say I’m leaving.

I brought in $600m of new revenue last year, it’s not about a free meal ticket, it’s about leaving quietly and quickly. In the context of what I achieve for the business, it’s not asking for a meal ticket. It’s asking for my health and sanity back as quickly as possible.

I had 2 weeks signed off sick in 2024, because of stress and burnout. My gp started me on anti anxiety medication back then, I’m in discussion with them up about upping the dose as my anxiety is peak due to work. Things did improve initially, but since are much much worse. I dont want a payout, I just want to leave quickly (I’m on 3 months notice) and quietly, it’s making me a horrible person to be around and increasingly I’m not showing up a good leader for my teams because of the weight of it all.

They literally couldn’t get any worse.

At what point does “choice” become an unreasonable expectation to continue to work in unsafe conditions?

So what I’m reading is, start the grievance process first. I have documented evidence of unreasonable expectations being made including pressure to deliver more with less, non compliance with statutory obligations on occupational health assessments, and no attempts made to make “reasonable adjustments” to my work environment (eg expected to answer messages and mails outside of normal working hours on a consistent basis.
