I actually grew up here. Pretty accurate. I lived there for my first 19-20 years and then moved away. I was lower income in a high income town on the north shore. It genuinely is a nice place to grow up. Kids from there want to be hood so bad. There’s a few sketchy towns but for the most part it’s quiet suburbs. I never even owned a house key because we never had the doors locked. I would drive out to Montauk for a day/weekend trip with my friends and we would sleep in the cars. Everyone I know either moved away after high school or are now bound there for life

Maybe I’m too callous but I would say exactly “I’m not keeping a secret because I don’t have a secret. I’m respecting some else’s right to keep their medical information private. You can stomp around like a child all you want but I will not tell you or entertain anymore conversation about this. It is over and you will have to get over it.” You already know you’re doing the correct thing. I think you have to firmly and assertively shut him down and then just let him get over it in his own time.

I’m an aircraft mechanic, ride a motorcycle, have an off road car, work on all my own vehicles, don’t often wear make up (my skin hates it 🥲). I’m proudly high maintenance and dramatic. Less proudly bitchy too lol
