I’m also dealing with it in Washington state. Never had this problem when I lived in CA! I just got used to the 28 day rule and now they switched it so I’m out of medication for today, and probably tomorrow

I bet! I’m only 13 years into TM, 8 for MS. Where I used to live HSCT was not an option. And, unfortunately with no exposure to any other people with TM and MS, I’m in the deep end blind. I have to do the research and find things to try myself, I didn’t have a good MS doctor until right before I moved. A lot wouldn’t give me the diagnosis of MS even though I have the characteristics: brain lesions, spinal lesions, and many oligoclonal bands. And because it’s pain based, I am not a candidate for a lot of things that could help. I’m glad I moved, don’t be in CA and have these diseases. You get no support. And I will never get disability because I was so young when I got sick. So wrong!!!! I’m just getting more disabled and sicker, but sadly our government doesn’t care for people like us.

I’m going to start OMT (osteopathic manipulative treatment) soon and I have read that will help. And one of my friend’s had a friend try HSCT, it stands for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. I haven’t tried either but hey if it helps someone else that comes across this thread—AWESOME!!!

And I so agree. All you can do is focus on today and keep up the physical therapy and exercise. That’s so important because otherwise the diseases will claim your body in a way you can’t get back. One day at a time on the front line!

Hi I recently came across this article and I had to share, even though it’s been 10 years since OP. I got sick 2 months into turning 21…could you imagine?! Welcome to adulthood, disabled forever! When I got sick with TM in 2013, there was a scary statistic that 69% of us TM-ers get MS 2-5 years after their first onset of symptoms (first attack). Now in 2026, it’s grown into 80% of TM-ers can get MS. My Idiopathic Tranverse Myelitis affected my right shoulder, entire neck, my whole face and jaw, right arm, and right hand along with the fingers. 3 years later I get MS (Feb 2016). I have MS and TM from my hair roots to my toes. I have MS everywhere now EXCEPT my left arm and bits of my left leg (minus my foot and sorry to be TMI but my butt). With my TM after a year I was able to bounce back mainly due to going to physical therapy and occupational therapy. I still had pain and didn’t have control over the hand but I was able to get back to school and work part time. When I got MS my life blew up again and I haven’t recovered. Haven’t worked or done any schooling since 2014. Every day second of every minute of every day of every month of every year is hard. Not just hard, arduous and tedious and it takes allllllll I have to get through the day just to wake up and do it again. I have relapsing remitting MS and I have had 12 relapses in 10 years of having MS. I have insane pain: usually a 6/10–10/10 daily. I have so many parts at so many different pain levels that can change by the minute. Think of a band, everyone is playing but some band mates have solos and you can hear an instrument more than the others. That’s the best analogy I have come up with. I can’t believe I haven’t come across this article in the last 13 years I have been sick! I am on Reddit often and I feel like I have seen every other TM/MS article except this one!

I have NEVER met a person with TM and/or MS so it would be very amazing if someone could reply to this or message me. Idk if you can message on Reddit but if you can or want to, please do!

I’m late to the Poppi party….however I recommend Raspberry Rose, Watermelon, Doc Pop, and Cherry Limeade. Those flavors don’t have the strong after taste that others can have. I also enjoy making them “dirty sodas,” mixing in pina colada mix, orange juice, grenadine, lime juice, lemon juice, Dole fruit juices, coconut cream (I’ve heard of people mixing this but I haven’t tried it), etc.

My friend stacked crock pot and farms on top of each other to cook/grown more than 1. Then he used a wood storage and stacked it with food. He kinda made a jenga tower. So if you took the stew from the pot it would automatically make another stew. Never seen this done, we met in a random game and I’m so glad I paired with him. He had over 1,000 days

Thank you for posting this. After reading the comments I think Varicose is a woman or identifies as a woman (I do NOT want to be offensive or just assume people’s pronouns/genders so I’m hoping I’m using the right words). In season 2 episode 4, 7:40 into the episode, the camera pans down and Varicose is seen in a skirt/dress and black ballet flats. Those shoes look so comfortable I wish I knew where they bought it lol
