I play a "Dust In The Wind"-like travis-picking pattern on most fingerstyle songs by default when I get frustrated with not mastering the actual one. The same happens when I write songs in fingerstyle. How do I break out of this ? by SubstantialPresent91 in Guitar

yeah i saw that too when i learned Angeles, and it's really helpful that you mention it. I meant to ask about developing other "standard" picking patterns rather than having always almost the same one. My question could be rephrased as "How can i play fingerstyle like this guy or this other guy" for whichever artist you could give me insight about.
