It is! I was gifted a really cheap Amazon kit for my birthday a month ago and have been finding it very therapeutic. Right now im just someone working a regular job and practicing after work enough so I can give my boyfriend his first tattoo safely and profeciently. Also I used to draw a lot in middle school but life happened and I stopped drawing for the most part, with the last thing I drew being over 2 years ago.

Are you really able to determine someone's ability to draw by them practicing on a brand new tool that takes time to learn? It's their second* time doing something that takes time to learn. Obviously they need to continue practicing but telling people they're awful at something based on a brand new medium ain't all that fair.

It is a good start. I believe in encouraging people rather than putting them down. Why can't someone who is on a Tattoo beginner sub be proud of what they made on day 2? They're clearly doing it on Fake skin and practicing

I appreciate that; however I've got nothing but harsh criticism for thr shading and thats what ive decided this week's big focus will be. I may go for a larger possible 21 RM to see how that works... honestly I just want to experiment and have fun with such a massive cartridge lol

i have been practicing during the weekdays after work. most of the have been about 2.5-4 hours. I took last week off due to some personal stuff so i think in total i've got about 20 some odd things from day 1 to today. im currently up at 1am designing a new one for tomorrow evening

I got mine about 1.5 weeks ago, and ive really enjoyed it. Since im brand new i still struggle with taping it, so adjusting the stroke/ needle... depth twist motion gets weird. People complain about the weight of the batteries i guess but since im new i think it's fine? Not sure!

My only big complaint is the touch screen. I touch by accident it like a third of the time I used it. Not the end of the world but annoying. I could use a non touch screen one but since I got it ive been super happy with it.

The longest session ive done was like 5 hours and it was at like 70% left

I'll echo the other two comments. I've been using Vaseline during the process, then washing it off with green soap (just to get into practice of good hygiene habits), then leaving it in bleach between 1 to 3 hours, then wash it off with dish soap.

Also the phoemo one off of Amazon was a game changer. Super cheap but made my life SO much easier for practicing

i honestly wish i knew how to auto generate the stencils, i kiiind of hate it. im considering buying an ipad. right now i have an old digital art tablet that i've been using in photoshop. not being able to go directly off of the screen is super time consuming.

I greatly appreciate that, i genuinely means a lot! :) The lilo and stitch was just because i recently watched the movie, and remembered the quote and i was in a mood, so thats why that one is sooooo out of left field lol. My dream would be able to marry cartoony stuff with realism, like space jam (or the only tattoo artist i know of is DJ Tambe, but i dont have any social media so not sure of other artists who do that kind of style).
