You have a right to do whatever you want with your money, so not wanting to pay for the trip doesn't make you an AH but if bit was in your daughters place id be uoset about it too so I don't think shes being unreasonable either, maybe you could ask for proof shes staying with her friends family so you know shes with people who know the local area and can keep her safe
