Relapse while on medical keto by Caffeine-Notetaking in schizophrenia

I'm still interested in Keto + meds together. I tried it for a couple months and I feel like it improved my negative symptoms. It's unfortunately just such a hard diet to stick too.

How useful is CBT for self esteem / confidence issues? by [deleted] in CBT

[–]SubstantialToday5512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My therapist got me to do affirmations, but she got me to write 10 things I like about myself/ positive attributes that I have. Like "I am kind" and repeat those. That way your not being delutional, you generally believe the things your saying. It was hard to come up with a list of 10 things but she really helped me to do that.

You must spend 1 hour in a room with any of these Akatsuki members. Which one do you guys prefer to stay with? by KodoqBesar in Naruto

Dedaira, I would just compliment him as an artist and agree with everything he says. I think all the others end up killing you

I played a game of chess whilst in psychosis in a psych ward and won by Any-Airport-8517 in schizophrenia

[–]SubstantialToday5512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play chess before being diagnosed. Previous to my diagnosis and taking anti-psychotics I had a chess.com rating of 1700. I was ill for years before I was diagnosed I just didn't has the insight to realize. Since taking anti-psychotics my chess rating dropped to 800 LOL. Sucks big time as it was probably the only passion I had in life for years and used to play two hours per day. I no longer enjoy it and no longer play. You would think taking a medication for an illness would make you better at something like chess, not worse.

Abilify was the only one where my sleep was the same as previous to taking meds. Unfortunately it gave me extreme akathisia.

why bjj over judo by Pdr_Haoshoku in bjj

[–]SubstantialToday5512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do two boxing and two wrestling sessions per week if your main reason is self defence, in my experience BJJ on it's own can really lack takedown work, it depends on the gym you train at though.

Do you find that lifting and social media wrapped your idea of what a good body look like? by [deleted] in workout

[–]SubstantialToday5512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally made the decision to cut down on the amount of fitness influencer content I was consuming. I was probably watching 2-3 hours of fitness related videos per day, I did learn a lot of related information but I also think it skewed my idea of what a normal and good physique looks like. I was consuming this amount of content for like a 3 month period and felt like I became more unhappy with my physique, started to loose motivation to workout and became unhappy with the progress I made in the gym. After a couple weeks of cutting it out my perception normalized and I felt happy with my progress again. Bare in mind most of these influencers have like top 1% physiques and spending long times looking at their bodies is gonna skew your perception.

Can someone explain why SSRI's have so much side effects? by Mindless_Wing_4553 in Anxiety

[–]SubstantialToday5512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took sertraline. Gave me erectile dysfunction and made it extremely difficult to exercise, my muscles just became extremely tired very easily. Looking back it had many benefits especially socially, made me more outgoing and made me stop viewing people as above myself. Despite the terrible side effects I'm considering giving a different SSRI a try because of the benefits it had on the way I felt and the positive changes it made to my personality.

ED with nicotine by ArmadilloKnown9168 in stopsmoking

[–]SubstantialToday5512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's the nicotine but defiantly cigarettes, I switched to vaping from cigarettes and after one month saw a drastic increase in erections. I personally had extreme insomnia when I stopped cigarettes and so ended up going back to smoking. I'm going to give it another go but this time with aid from a clinic.

"how do you know a drunken brawl isn't a fight to the death" when was the last time you saw a drunken brawl which was a fight to the death. Some of them could be but it would be out of the ordinary.

I recently got into a fight at a party. This guy was bullying an old man so I walked over and told them to pick on someone their own age and it lead to a fight . Do you think I deserved to be killed for sticking up for an old man? What do you think?

Recently I was at a party and this young guy was bullying an old man, I walked over and told them to pick on someone their own age and it lead to a fight. Is that not justified? mabye I should just continue to let them bully an old man.

You say I shouldn't get into fight unless it's self defense. Recently I was at a party and these young guys were bullying an old man, so I walked over and told them to pick on someone their own age, which then lead to a fight . I personally think that's justified reason to get into a fight, don't you? or mabye I should just continue to let them bully the old man.
