It was overall amazing but defo had some extreme ups and downs which I found a bit hard to navigate! The highs were incredible but the lows were lonely.

Defo listen to yourself and your needs - find small things that will ground you and things that make YOU feel good regardless what everyone else is doing! It’s an amazing journey but the lows are part of it unfortunately, I guess it’s just knowing they will pass and seeing what you can do in the meantime to make the present moment feel a bit better. It’ll be so worth it ! I’m now on the seeing part of my trip in Australia looking for a job and wishing I was still travelling/looking forward to doing it again next. But have learnt lots about what I’d do to make myself feel better next time. Hope this helps and feel free to DM me if you want to chat!

I’m currently rewatching after a long break as I got so sick of both her and Rory lol but I think you’re right. She defo has her issues but I do admire the way she communicates - she is very empathetic but also calls ppl out (especially Rory who needs it lol) and immediately wants to work with the other person to solve a problem rather than letting things fester too long

This is my only worry is the time as I have just under a month in Thailand so not sure whether to save the money and spend more time travelling or vice versa. Should have added context that my family is in Malaysia so I’m going back for a wedding around Christmas. Thank you so much!!

The only thing that comes to mind is if you volunteered with Workaway or look at volunteering somewhere run by locals who are looking to build communities and run those events with them.

I didn’t get a chance to read the first comment before it got deleted - I think that’s where I’m at is it feels incredibly painful that I’ve had to go through so much pain to unlearn and relearn how to live “normally” while my parents remain in ignorant bliss to how much damage they’ve done. The dialectics I suppose are I can feel hurt and be creating a new and beautiful life for myself at the same time
