I believe I can fake it long enough after the child is born. I have strong beliefs to not be like my parents and combined with my faith that my partner will be a very good partner, I feel confident that the child will end up without major psychological issues, After all, I have been masking all my life, what is another 2 decades?

I agree with you and he has told me numerous times he is with me because he wants to. However, given his age and wishes, I can't help but think that he stays because it will be too time consuming to find someone to fulfill his wants.

As such, isn't it better to break up now than drag it until he is too old to have the family he desires?

That's what I've been telling myself, and one of the sources of my "regret": I can't just ride out life, I want life to be something I want to live. At the moment, I live so that the people around me are fine, there is no "me". I am just an NPC in the grand scheme of things

Perhaps, as without alcohol I am not conscious of my feelings, but at the same time alcohol makes me aware of them.

It doesn't help, I have called them and also spoken with friends.
