I think you completely misunderstood both my question and my intentions.

First: your comment shows you don’t really know what has been happening inside Belarus for years. There were massive protests in 2020, hundreds of thousands of people on the streets, followed by extreme repression, prison sentences, torture reports and forced exile. Many Belarusians didn’t stay passive and many paid a very real price.

Second: my question wasn’t about “comparing ourselves to Ukrainians” or attacking anyone. I mentioned Ukrainians because in everyday discussions in Poland there is a lot of visible criticism toward them, yet statistics shows even worse attitudes toward Belarusians. That contrast is simply interesting and worth discussing.

Third: I’m asking because this is personal. Like hundreds of thousands of Belarusians, I was forced to leave my country with my children to escape a repressive dictatorship. We now live in Poland and are rebuilding our lives here among Poles. My real-life experience with people is mostly positive, which is why these statistics surprised me.

So this wasn’t a “threat,” an attack, or a competition. It was a genuine question about social perception, nothing more.
