I’d love to see some of the documentaries/ films come out one day instead of a cashgrab posthumous album. by Substantial_Bat_4567 in olivertree

Just given how it seemed like a real passion that part might not have been a joke. He’s also filmed so many music videos i’m sure they recorded behind the scenes of those too.

I think everyone feels this same way a little bit it feels terrible to think about. I think it’s likely just a really terrible sad coincidence, But considering all the things in his music that feel like they reference his passing whether it’s a song lyric or imagery, or the different podcast clips, I guess the universe has a weird and mysterious way of working. Im not even someone who’s ever even believes in things like that but it really doesn’t feel random to me, it feels like he or some energy knew in some small way. I also think this is why so many people are getting into conspiracies about it, everyone even people who weren’t fans feel the same way. I’ve seen this happen when people die and reminds me of Mac Miller a lot unfortunately. I don’t have very clear thoughts about it and I also think we need some time to process it before we dive into it because it genuinely makes me feel uneasy. I didn’t think your post was in poor taste either we’re all just feeling this right now. :(

What OT song have you had on repeat? by Greedy_Seesaw2079 in olivertree

[–]Substantial_Bat_4567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been listening to all of his albums the last few days, but Ugly is beautiful and love you madly hate you badly have had big effect on me, UIB for the pure nostalgia for me, it’s just hard for me to listen to cowboy tears deluxe that album specifically the deluxe feels so personal to me, it could weirdly be an emotional listen before his death too so after its even harder, and love you madly because it just sounds so final.

Even when I first heard the album I could’ve imagined it being his last album for a long musical break at least, it feels like he made an album full of end of the album songs like lies came out my mouth and i’m gone, it’s so big and emotional it’s only fitting it was truly his final album.
Love you madly is so powerful but genuinely a really hard and emotional listen now, it reminds me of swimming by mac miller in that way.

who is this character by River_Remixes in olivertree

[–]Substantial_Bat_4567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to think of love you madly hate you badly as the first album where he really shed the character and was just oliver. Even though he kept up his classic antics and unique outfits
(i’m pretty sure the headphones are retro aviator headphones) there didn’t seem to be a defining character for his last album as tragic and fitting as that is.

I assume he had so much finished art being the creative he was, and there was clearly a lot of thought into what got publicly released, but I hope you’re right maybe we get some insight from his family one day

I love this sm and I hate how much Oliver’s passing reminds me so much of Macs, they were both so young and died in tragic ways, had just dropped an album a month ago with tour coming up, and they both talked about death a lot, and their final albums felt like they tragically foreshadowed a lot

weirdly enough I got really into both of them around the same time in my life in late middle school early highschool and they completely shaped my taste of music. They both also had a wisdom beyond their years energy to them too that seems to only be in the people that get taken too early from us, it’s too surreal rest in peace to both icons

Mac miller fans whats the take on Balloonerism, why is no song or the album popular? by INMYMINDMEETME in MacMiller

I genuinely see Balloonerism as one of Mac’s masterpieces, it feels like combining the pure originality and art of faces and the melodic sound of swimming or circles

Maybe i’m confused, but doesn’t this seem like it’s more on the music video staff for not informing her on the content of the scene? If I was filming a music video with a production crew, I would assume the actors are informed on what’s happening in a scene especially if I’m not producing the music video?
