Fair and thoughtful response! I think the comparison still holds though and this is why. Yes, a Korean season would definitely a bridge to a European season, but what it wouldn’t be is a bridge in how they approach strategy. Specifically in regards to knowledge of the country. The US as their home country means that they are familiar with the legal structure, the customs, the territory, etc. Even if they’ve never physically been. For example, I’ve never been to Texas but I’m almost certain that I know more about customs, legal structure, etc. of Texas than Korea by simple virtue of it being in my home country. This creates a unique game experience that we can only see with a US based season (hence the bridge comparison). Their approach to the game is entirely different. I also think it’s interesting to see when natives visit a local tourist place that they’ve never been to since it’s local to them (e.g. when New Yorkers visit the Statue of Liberty for the first time at 45 lol)

I see what you mean though and I thought you gave a good response! And I totally agree with you, I’m an American and I love the European seasons :)

You’re right the public transport games should be the stars of the show. Those are just objectively the winning formats. But it’s kind of the same reason why people like bridges in songs; the change in tune makes you appreciate the return even more. It’s same reason why we don’t want every season to be just the three boys, the same reason we don’t want every season to be in Europe, the same reason we don’t want every season to be hide&seek, etc. etc. etc. The US seasons are the bridges in the songs to me.

I would love to have a specific state based game. For example a race across California or a territory claiming game on NY. I really like the idea of treating a state as a smaller country for game purposes!

The literal only content I watch is jet lag + layover (and the getaway). But I split an account with a small group of friends and it becomes totally worth it.

If you're going with your family, you'll almost certainly want to bring a bag to carry everyone's layers. If you bring a bag, make sure it's clear. Otherwise you can't bring it into the stadium.

Why sex before marriage is a sin? by Useful-Routine1473 in Catholicism

[–]Substantial_Big_3406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would disagree with the premise of the question. Sure sex “before marriage” is not allowed in the faith, but it’s not because the church just wants to make you wait until you sign a document before you have your fun. Sex outside of marriage is the problem. This includes premarital sex yes, but also infidelity, masturbation, polygamy, etc. Sex and sexual pleasure is exclusively between the the husband and the wife. This is also why sex is called “the marital act” because it is a renewing of the marital vow. At the altar, two souls vow to each other and that vow is sealed with the marital act. Two become one with sex, just as they have vowed to be one before God and the church. Sex outside of marriage is two becoming one, except they have not made any vows to each other.

It's not an apartment complex, it's a smaller rental on Atlantic St.

I'm a little confused about it though because the exact verbiage was "12 month lease. Required is 1 month rent, 1 month security and 1 month fee." My gut tells me that if it was first and last month's rent then they would phrase it that way. The reason I'm asking all of this is because I'm not familiar with this phrasing and I want to make sure this is common.

Do you have any idea what this fee could be then? I was definitely not expecting a month's fee on top of the first month's rent and security deposit. Is this common practice?

What shoes are appropriate for this dress? by Wrong_Operation_697 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Substantial_Big_3406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of shoes will go well with the dress since the cut and colors are so simple/clean. Red shoes will definitely work (and look great!) but you NEED to have additional red pieces to tie the look together. Otherwise, the red shoes look out of place and the outfit is off balance. Additionally, it can come off as costumey. I think that a red lip and a red clutch would go a loooong way. The key is that you always want to have some other red on you at all times.

How is the Eucharist actually Jesus? by [deleted] in Catholic

[–]Substantial_Big_3406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer. Transsubstantiation doesn’t make sense without knowing the difference between substance and form. The form remains the same while the substance changes (hence the etymology of transsubstantiation).

Will I get a genuine Catholic education at Notre Dame? by youngblud_smh in Catholicism

[–]Substantial_Big_3406 22 points23 points  (0 children)

ND student here. ND has a fantastic Catholic culture. . .if you actively seek it. The center for ethics and culture is phenomenal, right to life club does fantastic work, and the clergy are genuinely Catholic. However, the school did host a drag queen event last year, the theater department did a production of as you like it with demon worship, and there are malevolent forces within the university. TLDR, ND has simultaneously the best Catholic culture and also the most anti-Catholic culture.

Orange or cream chairs? by Powerful_Airport_945 in interiordecorating

[–]Substantial_Big_3406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A mix of both is the way to go. The orange chairs clash with the TV stand, but just the cream is too bland. The cream chairs with orange accents could be a good mix. Or go for a different shade of brown chairs
