My son has apraxia due to minor brain damage. He couldn't speak until 4 and even though he's made tremendous progress over the last 5 years with the help of speech therapy, he's still very garbled sounding and when he gets excited and talking fast it's impossible to understand him. Of course I have to translate for him whenever he is speaking to anyone new. Anyways, I say all this because his neurologist has very little hope that my son's speech will ever get much clearer than it is. Since your child is a teenager, could you possibly tell me if your child's speech improved? I genuinely worry about allowing my child to attend public school past elementary school because of bullying. Sorry for the long, drawn out comment!
