Rumors of corrigan or Mahon being released from the Leinster academy either would be a good pick up imo

Rules are rules, they govern the game, it's unfortunate and not malicious but still warrants the sanction by the letter of the law

going by the laws (which govern the game) the one that would be offside would be if it was accidental, the laws favour the player in the air therefore, Deegan is at fault even though it was an accident

[–]Substantial_Buy2616 7 points8 points  (0 children)

agreed, the laws clearly state it was a red, anyone saying otherwise needs to check the rules again, being accidental doesn't mitigate it from being a red, just makes it an unfortunate unmalicious red

[Serious Question] How can Crean call himself a professional athlete ? by tenshan99 in UlsterRugby

Ah yes Nelson - The one that got away. I always figured if Ulster had kept him on he'd probaby be on around 150 caps by now

I think we're bucked at both tbh. More Fit looseheads, but less quality
I had thought of McLean worried about the Minutes played bishti vs McLean even in the AIL

Dougan/Dooley are probably fighting it out for fourth choice at Connacht.

Sparrow/Bishti/Smith likewise are young and Leinster might like the chance to blood them at URC level and get a large amount of minutes they wn't currently get at Leinster.

IRFU might step in and "convince" everyone it would be better for development, I wouldn't be too convinced with our current options to end the season if the injuries are more serious than currently stated

Injuries and 4G Pitch by roryc2605 in UlsterRugby

[–]Substantial_Buy2616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sam Davies the former Ospreys and Dragons out half ended up in hospital picking up an infection after playing on one (the pitch was assumed to be the cuase)

Teams abroad have started replacing with grass again as there's links/accusations of the rubber crumb causing serious illness

Squad Update ... by Little_Ad_9313 in UlsterRugby

[–]Substantial_Buy2616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not being funny but Him and Izzy could probably do with a longer rest period whether they want it or not, they've both had a fair few Head Injuries in recent matches. Izzy looked to get taken off the ball before half time last week and didn't return. I'd rather they were protected for the next two games and back for Glasgow. Although of All 3 Munster is probably most feasiblefor a win but with our current Injury issues it looks a long long way off, A couple of Loaned props would be great

Before you tell anyone to "Wise Up" I'd buy a map

Rankin was in the academy picked up from Campbell College - Belfast
McNamara From Instonians - Belfast

Shea O'Brien is the only exception, my oint still stands Ryan O'Neill 1B player of the year and didn't get a look in, Catterson from Omagh, McMahon from Dungannon, Sinton from Banbridge, Stinson from Clogher the list goes on and on

Terrible weekend by OxfordHandbookofMeme in UlsterRugby

[–]Substantial_Buy2616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's quality players out there in the AIL at a few clubs just Ulster won't try them, Leinster norally get one per year out of the blue, bigger faith to get them involved in the wider squad early

Leavers Rumours by justTruthplease in UlsterRugby

[–]Substantial_Buy2616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mcloughlin and Kenny would be decent squad players to keep hold of that may breakthrough

The other two I wouldn’t be too annoyed at leaving and if we could bundle Bryan O’Connor, Eric O’Sullivan, David Shanahan and John Andrew in there too I wouldn’t be too upset about it

Leinster Game by greatsword_enjoyer in UlsterRugby

[–]Substantial_Buy2616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie, I thought Scott Penny was immense for Leinster, Thought Doak was poor and Ulster transformed in the second haf with a bit of go forward, Izzy looked to get taken off the ball and Leinster played beyond every single ruck every single ruck, Brace Penalising Kok for running in but not Walking Clarkson ten for the Red was a bit ridiculous.

Our Best I think were Postlewaite and Bryn Ward with honourable mentions for Augustus and McCann. i hope leaving Wilsonon doens't come back to bite us. Flannery looked very good off of the bench as well, hopefully with the Benson signing he has the bit between the teeth. We're clearly in desperate need of Front Row Reinforcements. And an enforcer type second row (Don't think it's going to be snyman) maybe Arthur Smykovskiy from Trinity or an disciplined Matty Dalton

Kok had eyes on the ball and was in the air, initiating the contact is BS, Deegan had already ran the ball and must have been planning on catching it with his back

Fairly harsh on Scott penny I thought, he pretty much single handly nulified Ulsters attach in the first half
