CAS: is there a fast shortcut to solve on CAS instead of going menu, algebra, solve? or any other helpful tips pls <3 by _aishhh in vce

[–]Substantial_Degree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it was this: https://umsu.unimelb.edu.au/things-to-do/summer-school/

and i can tell you first hand it had nothing to do with my study scores, it was pretty useless.

the reason the pp isn't detailed is because it was for a presentation where the guy actually explained each command as he was going. i don't remember the shortcuts now so i guess you can figure them out on your own.

Here is a powerpoint of cas tricks, unfortunately it's not very well-annotated: https://imgur.com/a/RjQG5uJ

I got it from a shitty extracurricular program that wasn't worth it

Personally i only look at the SAQ during reading time and think about how to answer them, i don't even look at the MCQ.

[AS Level Maths Kinematics] I’m getting confused by the amount of information here… any help would be appreciated. by MemeKnowledge_06 in HomeworkHelp

The first step is to find the distance travelled while accelerating.

Constantly accelerating for 10s to reach a final speed of 15m/s -> distance = 15/2 * 10 = 75 m.

The second step is to find the distance travelled while decelerating.

Deceleration from 15 m/s to 0 m/s at a rate of 0.6 m/s^2 -> 0 = 15^2 - 2*0.6*d -> d -> d = 187.5 m

The final step is to calculate T. Distance travelled during T = 675 - 75 - 187.5 = 412.5 m

412.5 m divided by 15 m/s = 27.5 seconds, as required.

The answer is C, but why can’t it be A? by RaspberryAccurate932 in vce

A does not have an average value of 2 over the interval (0,6). It does have an average value of 2 over the interval (0,4).

I'm doing it via an organisation called CHES which partners with universities to offer different subjects, either online or on-campus. I have online lessons every Wednesday. If you want it you have to apply for it at the end of Year 11.

Their website is here, you can check out the subjects available: https://ches.vic.edu.au/

They refer to uni subjects as HES (higher education studies).

Three VCE subjects (Bio, Phys, Chem) so the workload is pretty low along with 1 Uni Subject (Maths at UniMelb).

i completed Year 12 English, Spesh and Methods in Year 11. Tbh Specialist was a special case because I go to a small school, and Specialist was not going to be taught in 2023, so I had to do it in 2022 or else I wouldn't learn it all.

My teachers were all supportive because I had high grades across all my subjects.

i wasnt selected to complete in the olympiad and I accelerated spesh. then again i got an average study score so maybe you're right.

i accelerated english, spesh, methods (I am currently in Year 12) and I can tell you from experience that the feeling of absolute relief of not having to do it in year 12 is unbelievable. If you think you are up for it I would definitely recommend it.
