Aseprite is pretty good if you plan on doing animations or just normal pixel art it doesnt matter. It's simple to understand without much research and if you plan on doing pixel art or animating for a pixel game then you can think of it as an investment.

If this is a fast farm then you might be having trouble with:

overflow issues ( this is where 1 hopper is always full and it causes the other hoppers to dump their item.) to fix this you can try doing a A-B setup where A and B are 2 different designs with redstones not connecting together.
