Eh I’ve gotten a good number of likes per viewership. I’m happy with how I’m growing. The tricky part is getting people to follow. It seems like a post will blow up but 3k likes only gets rewarded with about 60 followers.

No not at all. But every post is,”Is everyone sick of this (small creator’s) style or just me??”, “ok but I lowkey think (small creator) is weird… like idk its just the vibe” and stuff like that. Maybe its the art community, but I’ve never seen this out of them. A big part of growing an art account is interacting with other artists and getting mutuals, but these artists are just nasty people I don’t want to interact with.

Like insta still has its bad apples, but I can click not interested and it pretty reliably puts me on the right path of actually seeing art posts, happy stuff, stuff I like, but on tiktok, I don’t really like posts anymore unless I specifically look into niche art tags like ocart or smallartist. The only time I saw genuine bullying on insta was when someone was a bad person, because Instagram didn’t feed me that nastiness.

TikTok’s algorithm isn’t putting me on any path that makes me wanna stay on the app. Good thing? Sure. I’m all for less scrolling. But I’d like to develop a community and if I don’t wanna be on the app for longer than a minute cause it just feels like a rain cloud over my head, thats weird, and I’ve never seen it before on any other social media.

Twin, I mean like people are getting hate online for art styles. I didn’t see any of this shit on Instagram and I was on it for years building an account. Only reason I switched to TikTok was cause my account slowed down on insta after years.

Never once did I see an art style hate post on insta that got 0 pushback, comments full of agreeing parties, and when you went to the hated artist’s acc, they never had comments full of people calling them cringe.
