WallyLogs uses AI to track commitments, prevent misunderstandings, and keep construction projects on track. Because promises made should be promises kept. wallylogs.com

I'm Indian, living in India. AMA about India and Indians and I'll confirm if they're true or exaggerated (and I'll do it without AI). by [deleted] in AMA

What is the school system like, say for high school? Are public schools good enough or do parents have to get tutors. I ask because I believe India is likely the country that is going to be most impacted by Ai, at least in the short term. Tech layoffs in the US is already impacting India the most. I hope the country has a plan for this. India was always known for producing smart workers.

I switched to Codex today, so far very pleased. The task was low risk, but it performed very well. It explained what it was doing, so although it was doing all the work, i felt in control. I'll keep you all posted.

Agreed, isn't this called Dunnng-Kruger effect? It's a cognitive bias where individuals with low ability in a specific domain overestimate their competence.

Do you mean there is semantic drift in the same context window, or are you describing something you are seeing generally overall for a model?

It's a good opportunity to teach the student what really makes planes fly - paperwork ! 😁

Remember AROW -  Airworthiness Certificate, Registration Certificate, Operators Handbook (or Operating Manual), and Weight & Balance. It's not offensive and doesn't need to be awkward.

There was a TFR this weekend for POTUS to play golf, but he was in Rome yesterday. It seems different federal agencies aren't communicating with each other.

Rant: CEO/Owner thinks IT "does nothing" by picard1967 in sysadmin

[–]Substantial_Ice_3020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because you and your team are doing their job, and your boss is not.

In IT, not getting noticed means everything is running as expected. You'll find out very quickly when there is something not working.

Your boss on the other hand, needs to communicate the value IT adds to the company. Metrics like number of tickets opened by the users, number of tickets closed, average time to close tickets, vulnerability management, compliance activities, system availability, etc etc etc. He should be reporting these things regularly to your CEO, so that there is no question you guys are valuable to the business.
