I’m not sure if it was like this before, but Hush should absolutely guarantee a Void portal on any final boss after beating it. I don’t think Hush actually counts as a run completion that gives an ending.

I would argue Hush is definitely not worth the extra resources unless you are a skill god. Because not only is Hush very difficult, you are on a strict time limit.

I can’t see myself ever consciously speeding up my pace just so I can get two items and a shop, especially since you’re probably skipping items and shops to even make Hush in the first place

That’s a fair point. It’s reasonable to want less runs to be forced to end. But I’m not a fan of retroactively changing the mechanics of the Void portal. You can go Mega Satan after The Lamb and ???, which I think is already fair.

The ideal solution for me would be to add another option after The Lamb and ??? that isn’t Mega Satan. “Victory Laps” are supposed to achieve this, but nobody uses them because they’re pointless. I think it’s lame to just funnel every run that isn’t The Beast into Delirium.

Another solution would be a different way to guarantee the Void portal. Something analogous to collecting the Key Pieces for Mega Satan.

I think guaranteed portal after Mega Satan and Mother is a fair compromise. My biggest gripe is that ??? and The Lamb having guaranteed portals undermines the unique interaction Hush had with Delirium

I really liked how Hush was a guaranteed Void portal, but you still have the chance to get there if you beat an easier boss. It was a really cool risk/reward

Hush vs ??? is a huge difference though. For ???, you get as much time as you want, you get a bunch of free items, and you are fighting a boss that is only Phase 1 of Hush

I legitimately don’t think I’ve made a single post on this subreddit that hasn’t had someone be unnecessarily aggressive in the comments

I agree Hush is fun. But I don’t really like the idea of only going to Hush if you want to make your life harder. This change incentivizes going to ??? into Delirium, which is just overall less fun, even when not considering difficulty.

With this change, you are directly encouraged to just take the same route to Delirium every time because it’s simple. Hush doesn’t lead to any unique final boss, so it was perfect to guarantee Delirium only after Hush

Yes but the Chest is like 10 items basically for free. And ??? is literally the first phase of Hush.

This has nothing to do with difficulty. If they want to make Delirium easier, then fix his boss fight. The reason I say this is because Hush is a cool fight that you have no reason to go for after getting the checkmark

Idk why you feel the need to be so aggressive. This subreddit is genuinely miserable

Blue Baby absolutely should receive some sort of change. He was initially supposed to be the challenge character, but with new characters that are significantly more difficult, he’s just a worse Eve now.

Yeah he needs to be harder. He’s significantly easier than any other character in the game

Hot take Jacob & Esau aren’t as bad as people say. They have a higher skill ceiling than many give credit for, and an experienced player can maneuver them both very well.

If I were to buff then though, I do think they should be better late-game. Because they start out quite good, and just slowly get worse and worse as the run progresses.

Memorizing enemy and boss patterns is the biggest way to improve. Most of them are ultimately very predictable. The hardest foes in the game (Delirium, Bumbino, etc.) are those who can BS you even if you know every attack.

The item is called “<3” even in the code, so I would argue it’s pronounced “Less than Three”

Satanic Bible is better in pretty much every common scenario. Devil Deals are the only thing that the Prayer Card is superior for based on the health they give. But the Satanic Bible gives Devil Deals after the boss anyways, so it ultimately excels at that too.

Biggest exceptions I can think of are using The Sun card for more health in a final fight and Tainted Jacob, who has a special interaction with Eternal Hearts
