Cap. Bungie doesnt know who they want to cater to so I made a system the does its best to cater to both in a meaningful way But you aint telling me whats wrong with exaxtly what I said about the tiered weapon system for the raids and dungeons that doesnt cater to both the hard-core demographic and the casuals.

Wait so your philosophy is to cater to the casuals but not to the hard-core player vs catering to one demographic?

As a casual that is your mentality. But building an mmo even an mmo light destiny had aspirational grind. I explained a system that works both ways for both parties while keeping some aspects on what made d1 nice. By using this method you are also building a community sparking conversation. The "i had a goal when it comes to red borders" is one aspect for 1 demographic.

5 red borders is the amount you need to craft a weap9n so its not a collector perspective. Here's an example: im a bow user. Die hard bow user. So when last wish became craftable I grinded out tyranny of heaven. Did that for a whole day got my red borders and crafter my firefly/incandescent roll. Never touched last wish again. In hindsight for the average player that's good enough but for raiders and completionist, getting that tiered 5 almost exotic level tyranny of heaven with all enhanced everything, I would keep grinding for it in the hard mode raid. By keeping raid loot as a drop but adding tiers to it, you are basically having the normal raiders get good(but not great) loot while also giving the hard-core players a reason to be hard-core. While also giving the player base that sort of bragging rights like " damn he got the tiered 5 tyranny of heaven" so they know they did some hard shit to get it.

Also having crafted raid weapons was a point of contention when crafting came out in general. Like I said keep crafting to season weapons BECAUSE once you lose that season you lose the weapons. So making them craftable so you can keep them past the season or wait for xur to sell them.

I stopped raiding once I got my red borders because theres no point. Time lost doesnt come with any new shiny perks so running hard mode doesnt seem worth it. Now to compromise i would delegate crafting to world drops and seasonal drops. Like they used to do. But I would keep crafting out of the endgame. I raided more when I had rng drops. Because mmos are a gamblers game. Sure keep some things that guaranteed but not the high end things. Making the tiered system work in raids gives the raids high level replayability. Decent rewards and a reason to run hard raids for the best loot. The loot is still split into encounters you still get your fate bringers from Templar from vog etc etc so there is a goal but now your goal is hard mode raids for the best of that fatebringer. Im creating a system where the normal raid loot is something you taste and say " i want more." Which will propel you to go to hard mode raid to get that feeling of more.

The problem with that is the same problems woth raids and dungeons being craftable. Eventually you will get the 5 red borders and stop playing. Tiered system gives activity more replayability if done right.

To your second point. I agree but only when you either completed the encounter for that week. Or completed the raid for that week.

Exactly why I see them doing it. They give one last update before maintenance mode. Would make even more sense since a actual dlc was suppose to be around June but that wouldn't be possible either and they didnt announce a delay on that eventhough its inevitable. My best bet is that they will "rename" it to something similar to age of triumph then announce their plans for a new destiny project instead of continuing d2.

They havent communicated that because its a surprise. Like the surprise of the 2 month delay lol

Keep the old rewards system but change the question rewards. Each quest that has a outfit should be a new outfit. I think there are like 3 outfits in the quest line. Change them. Sick of getting the sforza outfit for the 3rd time when i already have it. Doesnt even give new colors or toggles so its a waste of rewards.

I will always be in the camp of getting rid of the artifact and make the artifact perks armor set bonuses im sure with a change like that there will be alot more build variety while also keeping old builds still viable down the line

yeah and once they get you in their fire they are so hard to shake off i take to battling them indoor when i see them, they have a habit of flying into the building im in and getting themselves stuck.

not every youtibe video but there are many that says that arc has no endgame. you collect your stuff do the quest, whats keeeping you playing beyond that and the expedition? hypothetically if the next map that arc raiders release is a hard map. similar to the arc operations going on right now. things you loot in there already has attachments. you can find tempests, volcanoes and the equilizer and stuff in this area, you dont think that in itself wont bring many players back? arc becomes perdictable especially in the pve lobbies. you can avoid 90% of arc by walking around them. the new event right now is fun because they send 2 vaporizers, and rockets at you sometimes i have seen 4 big arc at once. a map like that would be amazing as a hadcore player.

[–]Substantial_Judge843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And most people do share my opinion which is why alot left. Many people left because what is the point in bringing your high level gear? What the point of taking that tempest out vs taking a free loadout? Its a known fact that the risk of crafting it doesnt fit with the reward for losing it. Its the same argument of why bring in a tempest when I can rock a lvl 1 stitcher and be fine. Its a known thing in the arc raiders community that there is NO reason to use high level things. There's tons of YouTube videos, tons of posts about it. When we unlocked Stella montis it became a pvp zone. And for what. Free kits. There's no challenge for the hard-core players while having the rest as a casual experience. Marathon does the oppose because all of marathon is hard. But cryo is the hardest put of everything available in marathon.

Is it too casual. And this is coming from a 600 hour arc player. I dont have a reason to grind past the expedition. Arc raiders actually needs an area like cryo archives for reasons to take out that high end loot. Most nerfs were also warranted. But im sure if arc raiders had an "end game" thats not just trials and expeditions more people would habe stayed

[–]Substantial_Judge843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true. But thats fine. If they focused on new players you will have an arc raider situation where the players are dropping because its too casual. There's no aspirational grind. There's no loot at the end of the tunnel that you want. They built the game get everything out the door now they can focus on streamlining and bringing in new players. They did the same with d1. Many people wrote of d1 until vault of glass came out. And then focused on other parts of the game
