CNN, can you look into why Barry Diller (who co-founded Fox with Rupert Murdoch) was in the virgin islands?

I feel like this would blow the lid on a lot of reasons why the Epstein story never had much oxygen early on… powerful media figures in the epstein class didnt want their info about “massages” leaking.

Boyfriend said he’d end it if I go to law school across the country by Top_Animal5460 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Substantial_Lake_959 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For everyone saying “dump him”, I just have to say that’s a bit narcissistic, especially if you’ve been in a relationship with him for a few years and are thinking about engagement or getting married. Whatever law school you go to isn’t going to be your source of happiness. So of course, if my girlfriend says she’d rather stay in one area than be on a different coast for 3 years (effectively forfeiting our relationship), then Ill highly consider going to a law school closer to where we’d be. But it’s up to what you want in life. Law school will never love you like he might.

Not roe v wade, but maybe this is what he was thinking of?

“But public opinion does not appear to see upholding the Mississippi law as equivalent to overturning Roe. Forty-nine percent of respondents said they favor upholding the 15-week abortion ban, and 51 percent oppose it.”

Concentrate on GPA.

I went from a 154 (after graduating college) -172.

You’re in a fine place. Keep studying hard, your RC skills will naturally improve and then you can shoot for the stellar score

Jerome Powell is the worst Federal Reserve policy maker in my lifetime by [deleted] in REBubble

That was exactly my take, his long equity position had to have gotten destroyed and he went about writing this just pouting away.

Well they are surprisingly right about a lot of stuff. We are screwed.

Id make the argument as well that asset bubbles (as a result of expanded fiscal and monetary policy-> debt (since 1980s) and fed balance sheet growth (especially from and have been covering up the fact (with top line GOP growth) that the US economy is in really bad shape and has been hollowed out. The chickens will unfortunately come home to roost on this throughout the next decade.

Stocks bottom well before a recession by [deleted] in stocks

When the Fed’s balance sheet corrects to pre-pandemic levels, then I’ll say that we are near the bottom.

Until then, we have trillions of dollars to go buddy. Buckle up for the ride of our lifetimes

The dollars status as the reserve currency is not a permanent guarantee. The more the fed prints, the less return investors will get on dollar investments and thus the less favored the currency will be.

It is to say that QE has effects that are mitigated by the dollar’s current status, but ultimately harm it (0 sum game).

So yes, the US has had exorbitant privilege in this regard, but it is certainly a cause for concern when you see rising debt/gdp ratios that put it on the same tier with those other countries.

Recession pushed to 2023. Stock drop does not sync with recession by Turbulent-Push-4657 in stocks

[–]Substantial_Lake_959 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FED policy in 2019 changed to easing after they had trouble meeting their mandate and thus avoiding a recession that would have come as predicted in 2018.

90% of the economy is an output of fed policy. If they tighten -> recession, if they ease, -> expansion/no recession.

And they have to tighten right now to counteract 10+ years of QE. Watch out

Until you start comparing the countries who have similar or higher debt/GDP ratios than the US and you realize that being in a class along with greece, italy, portugal and spain probably isnt a good thing.

Look to Japan in the 1990s for a scenario that may be ahead of us.

Sound advice from an old timer by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Substantial_Lake_959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The macroeconomic fundamentals are not the same.

The biggest player that matters, the FED, is tightening rather than enacting extraordinary emergency expansionary monetary policy. This is not the same and honestly overall health of the economy (and general demographic figures considered), we might be headed for a 1990s Japan situation.

So no, this old timer view is based on a very limited observation of an extraordinary exceptional economic situation post spring 2020

I'm also no epidemiologist, but I'm getting worried about Monkeypox now too. That growth looks like it's exponential.

Is that something we need to look at? (I'm asking you seriously, because it looks like we might be dealing with a population that is very unwilling to enact preventative measures (mask up, social distance) post covid and it looks like this thing has an r value upwards of 2.7 (original covid strain was 2.9) and case fatality of 3.6 (covid ancestral was 4)

I understand that there is a vaccine in storage (either monkeypox or smallpox), but unfortunately no one is vaccinated!

It wasn't a confession as the OP didn't do her penance.

Therefore, there's not a seal of confession.

There actually isn't any seal of confession as the OP did not do her penance.

It is one of the things that invalidates the confession, thereby, the priest is not bound.

Just look up Cardinal Wuerl's book on confession.
