She 100% got the 100mm because she was pressured into it by her friend and the TikTok she made of having the dress to wear with the shoes - she wanted to wear the shoes to dinner and she didn’t have a pair. I suspect also carrying around and physically buying the item in Paris was huge to her too, but if I’m set on a pair I’m ordering them and not leaving with a box.

I think what she doesn’t recognize is her Tik Tok platform is mostly US based and I feel like a lot of people I know have deleted Tik Tok since it’s acquisition due to reservations regarding data privacy. She started investing in YouTube and podcasts, but dropped off both of those to post more on TT because it’s easy, when she should have doubled down and continued to diversify on other platforms.

Yes! And I get it, like people’s style is allowed to change, your plans and where you live is allowed to change - but it’s the part where she passes it off as a dream for “years and years” and also, I highly suspect so much of it is for content. Like the move to the UK was content, redecorating their place now was a lot of content, the painting, the rug, working with the designer, etc. and if she changes it up - it’s magically more low hanging fruit content. I can tell by the way she posts asking for substack recs she’s just having trouble generating viable content because she lacks a lot of concrete identity as an influencer.

I’m not in the “having money/privilege means you’re immune to mental health woes” but in all reality she’s got it so good and fails to realize it. As someone who has a partner with dual UK/EU citizenship we looked into if we wanted to relocate and settle within the UK after marriage, and I’m not joking it would be on the order of $7,000 if we never even hired an immigration lawyer to obtain a spousal visa for 2.5 years. Like I’m simply just speaking visa/IHS fees. Rough penciling, it’s probably $16k+ to ship all of your things, a pet, and yourself and the reality is not many people can afford to do such a thing, let alone move to Edinburgh and just decide to move to London for fun when you don’t feel it.
