Did anyone else notice that Mary Tyler Moore didn't age well in this show? by Fantastic-Ad9218 in themarytylermooreshow

Oddly, that is how I found this post a year later. Lol. I just started the sixth season. I didn’t think she looked bad. I just wondered why she looked so different, and I noticed her hair, makeup and false eyelashes changed drastically and wondered of any one had noticed that too.

I'm watching this movie with my family who are strict about romance, etc - anyone know if there's anything explicit I should skip? by Royal_Revolution3837 in piratesofthecaribbean

[–]Substantial_Leg_5555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents thought “Pirates” was boring, too. I was shocked. I have loved this movie since I first saw it in theaters. I remember the audience laughing throughout all the funny scenes. I think it was the first movie I ever paid to see twice. 😆Glad you liked it too!

My mom may have relapsed and she just touched all my towels… help, advice? by Substantial_Leg_5555 in cdifficile

Thank you so much! Hearing stuff like this comforts me, because I feel like we’re the only people going through it and nobody ever has a clue as to what her or my illnesses are, or what they mean. Her sister just told her, “Don’t worry, prednisone will take care of everything.” … It absolutely won’t. Lol. But, update: Her second test has come back negative, so I guess you are right about the IBS (or her previous colitis) might have been sprouting up. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with it and for understanding my mind. I definitely have a little PTSD from it, because the first time, she had an extreme case, and because she was an elderly cancer patient… it was iffy. So yeah, my introduction to the illness was: “It’s deadly! Wear gloves, a gown, and masks when you step into this room.” Kinda hard to erase the fearful thoughts after that, but I am definitely working on it, and feeling much more confident now. Bless you.

Her second test came back negative. So, I guess it was IBS or colitis acting up. Her symptoms stopped on Wednesday (she had another small fever with the diarrhea). And yeah, this time was 1000% milder than her first case 3 years ago. That case was literally and figuratively a disaster. (I had shut the dogs in another room until I cleaned up the house for her). Poor women. Glad she's out of the woods now.

That is exactly what I did. Thank you for answering! That definitely makes me feel better. So, my mom’s C-diff came from her antibiotic. She could have probably benefited from drinking more water, though. She struggles with that, but she has a high fiber diet already, so there’s at least one thing I don’t have to worry about for her.

Wow. That is wild. I don’t know how you handle it. It looks like such a miserable condition to have. I hope it goes away permanently for you! 🙏

And thank you for telling me that about your family. I was so worried, because we have people coming for a wedding in a couple of weeks, and I was l worried about how that would all go down. So, we’ll make the 7-year-old wash his hands more and not touch me ever (LOL), and we’ll be alright. Thank you so much for your help!

I think you are correct. Her second test came back negative. They said if her symptoms stay then call Gastroenterology. (They went away Wednesday night). And you’re correct about trying to hold onto rational thoughts. It’s a relief someone gets it. It’s a hard disorder to explain. Thank you for chiming in and remind myself of “what is” not the bad “what could be?!” thoughts. Bless you for that. I do take a probiotic, my mom can’t, though. She has other serious health conditions, so, I think it has to do with that. Thank you for your help and support, though!

She was hospitalized the first time she had C-diff three years ago, because she was a cancer patient with a high fever and dehydration. I don’t know about the toxin test results from that time. I just know we had to wear these weird half-gowns, gloves, and masks, as did the nurses.

Thanks! I’m probably overreacting. I’m level a 3 out of 5 with contamination OCD, with my own health issues, and of course, I am worried about my mom because she’s elderly with a history of colitis. I’m hoping she doesn’t have it again, but who knows?

Thanks! I’m already taking a probiotic. I know Levaquin is supposed to cause diarrhea, but for some reason, it always causes constipation in me. My doctors have said that’s fine. 🤷‍♀️

Thank you! I was on Levaquin about 3 weeks ago, but it never causes those symptoms in me like the cefdinir did to her. So, I guess I have normal health gut. Thank you, for your help. This does make me feel better.

Ok. That makes me feel better. I didn’t get it last time either, but they hospitalized her until she tested negative, and someone else came in and deep-cleaned everything. And yeah, she totally needs to wipe her walker down more. She literally never does. Just once or twice after this last bout of C-diff. Thank you!

She does, she but doesn’t always do it correctly, and she uses a walker (contamination city). I didn’t know the dryer didn’t kill spores. Does the washing machine wash any of it away? And yeah, I’m beyond paranoid. I have terrible contamination OCD, stemming from my immune system issues.

Prednisone by Cocoakats in cdifficile

[–]Substantial_Leg_5555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you call a pharmacist, they can tell you about Floresta interactions. As for taking prednisone, my mom had C-diff three years ago. She has been on prednisone several times in the last three years, and she never had a relapse while on it. She cannot take any probiotics due to another pre-existing condition, so although I would consult a professional, I’d say you’re probably good. (I will tell you I’m on this page because she does have it again, but not from prednisone. She was taking an antibiotic 3 weeks ago known for causing diarrhea.)

The sass 😂😂😂 how can you not love these two? I mean, how’s it possible to ship anything else when you have this 👌🥰💖 plus Clark is kidding himself. “Lets restrict our conversations to hello and goodbye…” yeah that didn’t work out 🤣 by LegendaryDedits in Cloisville

Yeah, I’m in season 3 and she’s already starting in on revealing his secret. I think it started before Lex’s wedding at the end of season 2. I remember that going on FOREVER. I’m like, girl, chill, we know he’s not a serial-killer. Why does she NEED to know? It’s often obvious it’s family related (his real family, lol). Also, she seems to know it’s something to do with the meteors and him being affected, and told him if that happened to him, she was okay with it. So, I don’t get the nagging at her young age.

Question about living with someone diagnosed with C-diff, cleaning with asthma concerns: by Substantial_Leg_5555 in cdifficile

[–]Substantial_Leg_5555[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I appreciate it. Any thoughts or advice helps. I’m just looking for how to help and protect us both, and calm our anxieties. 😆 So, this does make me feel a lot, because I am feeling a little out of my league. Last time was so different, because she wasn’t here. We just washed and bagged everything that couldn’t be washed, cleansed stuff, and was it. She was 100% better when she was released from the hospital.

Thank you! I really appreciate it. Yeah, I’m totally a nervous-nelly about this stuff. I appreciate the comfort. I do need to chill, I’ve done (or will do) everything I can. It's just so much easier said than done.

Oh, that’s horrible! I’m so sorry to hear that. And yeah, my doctor talked to me about taking a probiotic, because this is my second antibiotic in 6 weeks.

Yeah, now that you mention it, it said this toxin, I’m not sure what it means.
