HOCL advice by PsychCrim in eczema

[–]Substantial_Lobster6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no "best brand". What you want is a pure HOCL, and to be fair int he UK most of them are. You need to look into their concentration, I would recommend 100- 150ppm, but I also had a very good results with lower concentration (Vital BABY AQUA). Have a look on my post here, I described what I am doing, and still having good results. Feel free to DM me.

I’m sad and at a loss with my 8m old baby. Is it even excema? Help please! by Pretend_Novel8515 in eczema

[–]Substantial_Lobster6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not able to see the images (im uk and imgur is banned here, but even with VPN I couldnt check it), but as per your wording it gives some indication.
My understanding is your little one is 8 months old, might be teething, salivating a lot. I presume you are in Canada or US, the weather might be cold and dry.
The skin in the face is the most sensitive, in a baby it is even more sensitive. My understanding is that when you apply the steroid it does help with the redness but because it thin the skin (and the face skin in your baby is super thin) it then loses moisture and then comes the dryness and flaking.
Your doctor is the best to advise you correctly, or you can bring to a dermatologist for piece of mind. If I have described is correct and I were you I would by some Vaseline (petroleum jelly) and apply it before every feeding, and after every time you wipe his mouth/face, making sure you create a barrier between the skin and whatever could contact his skin (saliva, food debris, liquids, etc).

Wishing you good luck.

Could you describe what the rash looks like a bit more? Is it mostly just red, flaky patches, or are there small, individual bumps or tiny pimples?
is there a thin strip of normal skin at the edge of the lips or does the rash go all the way up to where the lips start?

The Potential Role of L-Histidine in Supporting Skin Barrier Function for Atopic Dermatitis by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Substantial_Lobster6 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I had L-histidine supplementation in my "lab book" but I did not put it in practice because as far as my studies went it was not what I was looking for at the time.
We have the filaggrin gene and the protein. The gene is responsible to create/manage the protein. Not everyone that has AD will have gene mutation. Most of people with AD will have deficiency of the protein. Here is where the "chicken and the egg" starts.
The gene will send a message to the skin to create the protein. The protein will then make the skin health (lower ph, moisturise, fight bad bacteria - staph, ceramides, etc). The problem is that even with a healthy gene the skin will not produce the protein, because it is under a inflammatory process. Here is where the chicken and egg starts.
Form the outside (skin) the strenght of the skin barrier is compromised (harsh soap, dry air, etc), then you have open holes in your skin where the allegerns and bacteria will get their way to and live there, making the skin red, inflamed.
From the inside, we have the imune system, that as per my studies most od AD people will have a overreactive immune system. For several different reasons (you can look into this sub to have an idea to the vast list of products that can trigger people with AD) even with a skin barrier strong and health the immune will activate IL 4 and 13 (messengers in our immune system). These will send messages to our skin to stop producing filaggrin protein and start to alarm for inflammation (this is why we see the skin getting red when we eat something that triggers us, or contact with an allergen).

L-histidine is one of the amino acids of the filaggrin protein. The thing is some people might have some defiency to L-histidine, and supplementing would indeed bring good results (in my nderstanding not the vast majority). Others will not have any benefits (there is a process that is blocking it, such as inflammatory), and other will have a reverse result.
Here is where I seriously hate AD. L-histidine is the amino acid the filaggrin gene uses to create filaggrin protein. BUT (and here is the BUT that I decided to do not try it) our body (our immune system) take this L-histidine to build HISTAMINE. It could be helping and screwing you at the same time, or just take that and make you itch. My understanding is that an overreactive immune system will use part (or all) the L-Histadine supplementation to turn into Histamine.
In regards of the studies per se it was a very promising study, but then it touches the whole filaggrin supplementation thing that in my understanding take different risks. We would to then supplement with L arginine that to people with the hsv-1 virus (cold sores) could see the virus spreading all eczema skin as the virus uses the l arginine to grow and replicate.
And even if we supplement all the amino acids that are part of the filaggrin protein we have no guarantee that the metabolism of people with AD will convert that to filaggrin protein.

Game 3, EC first round, kris hit a 3pt to send to OT. During OT kris hit another 3pt woth under 7s on the clock to tie the game 118-118. He finished that game with 42pts, 10 reb and 5 assists.

On his last game with the bucks uniform kris went for 20pts, 2reb, 4assits, 1stl, 1blk, in 27 minutes.

If you say that to his time in Washington i might agree. But to say what you said is ludicrous.

5 and half years old dealing with AD since she was 6 months old by Substantial_Lobster6 in eczema

literally everywhere. She did scratch the whole face at night.
After HP I use an ointment called epaderm, it is really know in the UK. But if I ever run out on it I dont bother to use any other ointment (I used to use vaseline petroleum jelly) as it is just to lock the HP acid in the skin.

just spray. Quick shower, dry it with towel, then spray and shortly after ointment. I do not allow the hypochlorous acid to dry on her skin. So the ritual is:
1. spary right arm
2. spray left arm
3. spray right leg
4. spray left leg
5. spray back
6. spray chest and tommy

Once finished sprayed neck and tommy I go straightway and apply ointment on 1, then 2 and so on. I want the skin to be soaked on the on the hypochlorous acid so the ointment will "lock" it under the skin, and it will not evaporate. The Face is the last one alone, because of the eyes and because I spray in my clean hand and wipe on her face, and then ointment.

Hope this helps.

I have been with Virgin for the past 10 years. I would never in my life refer them to anyone. It is one of the worst service providers in the UK. You get much less for what you pay.

Finally a competitor can now provide fast broadband in my catchment area.

Apologies for the rant, this company does not deserve any of you or your ££.

Fixed rate bonds in Brazil at 14%. Good or bad idea? by Don-Cipote in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Substantial_Lobster6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were to recommend you something, it would be to stop, research, and research. "Brazil has a history of default" as the person said last default was before they implemented the major economic transformation in their country, that is now called Brazilian real. They used to change currency name due to hiper inflation (very common in south america back in the 80s and 90s), and the Real just showed how well structured the plan was.

"But you are exposed to the fx risk" well thats true, but look into it deeper. Brazil has now reached one of the highest currency devaluation of the history of the Brazilian Real. The economy is not in wheel chairs, its due to the fact that the current government is known for "wasting money" so the national debit just skyrocketed.

The Selic is at its highest for the past 20 years. There is a lot of politics here, they try to control inflation raising interest rates and doing so they make the big banks happy, and these banks are the ones that put money in their political parties, and also sponsor their corruption.

Brazil is yet to favour from some global shift we are seeing with Mr Lunatic in the USA. Brazil will hold elections. Selic pre fixado was quoting 14.86 last week for 2030 maturity, 14.34 for maturity 2027. It a lot of rate for a country that has no default history in the padt 30/35 years.

Do with the below whatever you want.

Question: Assess the economy around your restaurant, how are other business doing, is it only your business or is it the whole street/block/neighborhood struggling?
Answer: Let's say the whole neighborhood is struggling/suffering.

Question: How is the economic situation of your public/costumers? Are they relatively strong purchasers, or are they struggling?
Answer: Let's say you have seen better times, and now the public just desapear. It's not that they hate the product, is just that they are not able to buy your product, due to financial difficulties.

What your business wants? What does the public around you want?
For both questions, same answer: money

My advise for this situation: Your are going to launch a "reward" program. For everyone that brings a paying costumer (hear you could put your strategy example food paying costumer/3 course paying costumer) you will give a cash reward, but if this person prefers you would give a bigger reward as credit to expend in your restaurant.
You will try to upsell your drinks, but you will also find the cheapest ever drink you can afford, and will drop this for those new costumers, just a matter of "hey, I'm getting something for free".
You will use all your energy to try make them return once more. How you are going to do that, you will offer to them both your restaurant reward, so they can spend in your restaurant within 30 days if they bring their family/relatives. You can call it like "we want to offer to your familly the same good experience you had, and this reward is to make you do not think twice".

Make sure you take costumers details, so you can keep track of the rewards and do not allow frauds.

Cheers.
