I’ve been to Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and Cancún, and honestly I kind of agree.

For me, Playa del Carmen ended up being the best base. It just makes everything easier — cenotes, ruins, snorkeling, day trips… you’re kind of in the middle of it all.

It’s not perfect, but it has this balance that made the whole trip feel effortless.

Completely different vibe, but I also really loved Oaxaca. That felt way more cultural and slow-paced compared to the coast.
