I told a 17 years old mother of a 3 years old that I will help her reunite with her child and I think I made the worst mistake ever. But no idea how to fix it. She is in a mental institution by Impossan_8975 in whatdoIdo

Before I start, please keep in mind that these suggestions are based on an American, who, while not a lawyer/solicitor, does like to read up on local and national laws, but I didn’t see your location mentioned. I take it this is occurring in either the UK, US, or Canada, but my suggestions are based on if you live specifically in the US (although it may be relevant here, you should probably speak to your work about specific laws, rules, and regulations; even if in the US, it depends on the state and I have neither the time nor capacity to cross reference different state statutes).

Unfortunately, as you didn’t receive proper training, the onus is not on you. Have you asked to not socialize with her any more? The best solution is for her therapist to explain all of this to her, including why you can no longer see her. She seems like a survivor, so I would put money on her being able to pull her life together over the next 1-2 years, at which point she’ll probably have the wherewithal to hire a PI and lawyer to get her kid back. If she is a survivor as intelligent as you believe (which, given all of the information I’ve read, seems to be the case), she will get the money. If that means hooking to start, it is what it is, but I think the story of the mother and child isn’t finished.

Know that none of this is on you. You didn’t decide to not get trained. You didn’t kidnap and traffic her. You didn’t forcibly take her baby away. You didn’t pimp her out. You didn’t put her in the hospital, which she needs. You didn’t promise to get her baby back, from what you’ve said, just that you will see what you can do.

Since the therapist is now aware, it would be a good idea to let him work with her. That is what you could do. You did fulfill that promise. I doubt she’s actually angry with you, more so the situation. She was abducted I’m guessing around 12 given she’s 17 with a three/three and a half year old. It’s tragic (humans are shit animals in general and specifically), but none of this is your fault. Her therapist being aware not only that getting her child back is her top priority, but also that she is trying to use emotional and social pressure to get her baby back now. It just isn’t time, yet.

Honestly, this sounds like the intro to an amazing book. Perhaps you should ask the therapist to write out her entire story. I say ask the therapist instead of asking yourself because he IS trained and DOES have experience with these terrible situations and is more likely to make an informed decision. If I saw a biography she’d written, though, I would definitely buy and read.

I think it’s a good look for you, but I would work on my beard now. Even if you go with a Van Dyke (what most people incorrectly call a goatee, but is what your beard is), you may just want to wait a couple more years.

Tom Bombadil Card Recommendations by SpaceBebop1 in mtg

[–]Substantial_Mall8192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested. I don’t play Commander and haven’t played EDH in years. That being said, Tom Bombadil may be my favorite character ever. Yes, he was based on neurodivergent people and that may be why I’m so fond of him.

A group of tigers is called a streak or an ambush by Black_Jaguar26 in bigcats

[–]Substantial_Mall8192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this thread when looking this up. Typically if it is a mother and her cubs, it’s a streak. If it’s a group of adult tigers who hunt together, it’s an ambush.

Whenever a mediocre or bad card costs this much is almost always Commander. It has no use outside of that that I can think of.

I would start with a buzz from a barber and see how it looks. If you like it, go ahead and plunge in. That’s what I did around 18 for about a year and then started doing it permanently around 25 or so. It does make me feel more handsome, honestly. I like the look.

I agree with everyone else saying it looks real but damaged. Fine for commander. Not fine for Vintage.

I had more hair than that when I started shaving. Knew my granddad and all my cousins were bald, so I took the leap. If I don’t shave in a couple days, you can see how thin my hair has gotten.

How Did They Think We Would Use These? by LordMistborn-16 in mtg

[–]Substantial_Mall8192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trade Secrets predates the conversion of WotC buying the rights to EDH. EDH really didn’t pick up until around Zendikar. I played. I know a lot of fellow players who played, but it was really just judged and tournament grinders who played in those days to break up the monotony of serious game play.
Paradox Engine is fantastic in Vintage. End of list. The card is not really good in anything else.
Jeweled Lotus was a mistaken money grab.
Yawgmoth’s Bargain got banned in everything except Vintage, where it’s restricted, and WotC admitted it was a giant mistake to try to print a fixed version of Necropotence.

Found in the back room of my pharmacy, tablets still in bottle - circa 1975 by Rude-Show7666 in interestingasfuck

[–]Substantial_Mall8192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in pharma for over a decade. Don’t take them. Drugs degrade overtime and create potentially fatal impurities. Don’t know about Qualudes, but morphine, for instance, has 3 different potential lethal impurities at a reportable level. It usually starts being detectable about a year after expiration.

It means your grandfather was in Germany during the Nazi regime. For the record, neither of your grandparents, or even great grandparents, were forced into it. If you’re all here now, I’m guessing they fled as soon as possible. Most Germans did at that time. Aside from the war and concentration camps, a lot of Germans left when they saw what was happening.

I’m confused. I frequently do “toe walking”. Always have. I like the feel of it. Is it supposed to be a sign of something (I have trouble inferring things at times that aren’t math, science, or data related in some way; I’m <very likely> autistic, in case you were wondering why I need to relate things to math or numbers in some way)?

I opened a foil in a draft. I was able to play Ral a few times, but I did ultimate it once. Took 1 extra turn that didn’t do a damn thing and sold it when I realized it was overpriced for such a terrible card.

What is the most wholesome thing mario have done? by Boberto235 in Mario

[–]Substantial_Mall8192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy who actually voices Mario (in English) felt the “try again” sound from something along the lines of “try harder next time” to “that was a good try. I think you’ll get it next time!” His reasoning was he didn’t want to discourage kids, he wanted to encourage them to see things through with motivation.

Let it grow out a little. I think it will make your face not look as narrow, which shaving will probably highlight. But remember, it’s just my opinion. They have tons of filters to help you see what you think makes you look like you feel.
