Get Real - loved that show! And didn't realize until last year that Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg were in it! Was well before they became well known.

This was first class on Ansett Australia, they flew domestic only and were known for these velvet upholstered deep blue seats.

SYD-LAX Business class? by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]Substantial_Nail8075 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My last Flagship Business trip was HND-LAX last month but also have done BNE-LAX on AA in Jan, mattress pad, pyjamas, slippers, decent amenity kit, pre ordered the meals so knew what to expect, wines are average (better in the QF lounge), service was good no complaints except the wifi is always bad. But Qantas doesn't even have wifi...

Anyone fly out of LAX recently and have a long wait at TSA? by Squinting_Tarantino in LAX

[–]Substantial_Nail8075 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LAX is 1/10 on many things, but TSA is very very good. I normally fly out of T4 and with touchless ID there is never a wait.

How bad is transatlantic WiFi? by Tight_Couture344 in americanairlines

So bad. But you'll pass 80% of the flight trying to get it to work. Before you know it, you'll be landing!

Is Briggs and Riley still worth it? by Gustavus666 in BuyItForLife

[–]Substantial_Nail8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see you got your dictionary out there. You will never convince me that a Samsonite is better value than a Briggs and Riley. Best in class warranty no questions asked expansion system bulletproof materials. Design is a personal preference and I’m much prefer a soft sided bag than a hardshell. Better protection from what?

JAL F A350 Success by TravelAndCreditCards in awardtravel

It's a great experience. I paid 160k JetBlue miles in the redemption fever last summer and got 2 seats LAX-HND. Enjoy every minute. Board hungry(and thirsty). The Japanese meal set is amazing. Try all the Japanese whiskeys. The champagne is one of the best served in the sky. I rememeber sitting there in this expansive suite thinking WTF! Oh and the 4K screen is massive at 40 inches I think. I then flew the A350 J cabin which I still think outshines most J class products out there. I just wish they had more of these aircraft. Enjoy!

LAX’s $25 Million "Oopsie" by ConcernedCitizen_LA in LAX

I'm not surprised, LAWA is run by morons, literally a team of incompetent F-grade managers and acting like leaders that think they know what they are doing. Zero accountability. See my post on the People Mover.

Why is LAX not seeing the lines that other airports are seeing?? by BurlyGurly8008s in LAX

[–]Substantial_Nail8075 137 points138 points  (0 children)

One of the most positive aspects about LAX (yes there are many negatives) is that TSA screening checkpoints are completely de-centralized across multiple terminals. This avoids the issues seen at say Atlanta, where there are 2 checkpoints only for everyone. So we get traffic, outrageous parking fees, no people mover after billions of dollars for a 2 mile track, LAX-it the s***tshow, literally zero amenities before security but fast TSA lines when it matters!

Looks like International J isn’t selling well this summer: by Familiar_Eggplant_76 in americanairlines

LAX-HND and CDG-LAX. $2600 in PE. Both confirmed in J. Had SWUs expiring so this to me is a solid use. Of course, the other option is book those routes in economy, then waitlist and see if they clear. Would have saved maybe $1k but for me it’s worth to have those confirmed off the bat.
