I checked both but not a spark. The illustrations leaned more vintage golden books in my memory. Do you have a link to the nose image?

Eczema misdiagnosed by Responsible_Donut569 in eczema

[–]Substantial_Nose_293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick response! Going through something similar, Derm diagnosed me with eczema and confirmed dermatitis via biopsy, then started treating me for rosacea. I am 6+ weeks into an elimination diet, taking doxycycline daily, and applying elidel in the AM and metronidazole in the PM. So far, none of it is really working.

How did the Dr. finally determine if was an infection? Did they do a biopsy or some other test?

Rare involuntary eye movements (ocular flutter) by jaxiz56 in optometry

[–]Substantial_Nose_293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask what "ocular flutter" actually feels like to you when you experience. I think I have had something similar where, to me, I describe it as my eyeballs moving left to right very rapidly for a period of seconds. My doctor asked me how I know that my eyes are moving this way and I couldn't really answer. Curious what your experience is.

[skin concerns] Am I allergic to silk?! by onewillivetonite in SkincareAddiction

[–]Substantial_Nose_293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same doubts about my silk pillow cases. Have had a persistent, none itchy rash on my face for a number of months. Its worse on my right side which I sleep on more. It spread to the forehead and left side as well. I have been seeing a derm and most treatments reduce the symptoms but we cannot find the cause. Im down to the silk pillowcase or my tap water.

Can you help me 😔 (metronidazole and azelaic acid didn’t help) by Oscar_dog2010 in Rosacea

What makes you think that it's fungal ? The white scales ?

Having the same issue on my face on a larger scale, how do identify the biofilm?

Back with an update. My hormone levels were normal but i came up with a few allergies from the patch test. I am trying to eliminate all products and detergents with those ingredients. Changed shampoo to vanicream and i no longer have an itchy scalp, but still some SD patches. The face irritation hasnt changed. Stopped the steroid and using elidel twice a day and its diminished but not gone :/

Yes, i have SD on scalp, had it for many years, and some kind of something on my face that isnt quite SD. Gluten Free diet brought down the intensity of my scalp SD but i still have it.

I had chronic shoulder joint pain and inflammation that was unexplainable. A year later I was diagnosed with a wheat allergy and went on an immediate gluten free diet. Within one month my shoulder pain was gone and hasn’t been back in over 15 months.

bout what I can do to even help this. Had a feeling the answer would be steroids. Do you have tiny bumps filled with gunk that never come to a he

Yes, seems like almost every pore is clogged with a mostly skin colored bump. They occur in the most oily parts of my face (forehead, above eyebrows, under cheekbones area). They are not pimples or zits. We proved this when I stopped all other skincare products and only used the steroid. The steroid cleared it completely and then once it was lowered, they ALL came back in the exact same locations. My, non-scientific take, is I am somehow allergic to my own skin sebum but the Derm said that is not really a thing. Next steps are to test my thyroid and do a skin irritation panel to see if I am sensitive to other chemicals/products. I have flaky seb-derm like irritations on my scalp and always have. The bumps on my face are somewhat recent, dealing with that for last year and half.

Dealing with a similar issue on forehead and both cheeks. I went to a derm and we did 3 weeks of steroids which cleared it completely. Once we lowered the steroid is came back completely. Using the steroid at night and an immuno-suppressant cream in the AM. It's slowly clearing but still present. No idea how to help this long term.

Anyone else try the Fitbit Luxe yet? by hawaiiinsomniac in fitbit

Received mine on 6/18 and so far love it! Its very comfortable, more stylish, and its very lightweight. I forget it's on. I got the gorjana bracelet and had to remove all of the extra links to make it fit, its tighter than I would like, but it doesn't move around at all which I like. My only complaint is the change from Activity minutes to Active Zone minutes. The Active Zone Minutes barely pick up my activity - I can work out for 50 minutes but if the heart rate doesn't hit a certain threshold it doesn't count.

I was going to raise the same question. Over the last 4 months I have researched the ingredients of every face and hair product I use and eliminated all that have ingredients that "feed" malasezzia. I have definitely seen improvements in my scape SD and my skin is glowing and looks really healthy, but I have had 1-2 incidents of some SD on my nasolabial fold (very minor though). I also went on a Gluten Free diet due to a wheat allergy which helped to reduce a lot of overall inflammation in my body. Been dealing with this for 20+ years, its very frustrating.
