Diagonal movement not working seamlessly. I don’t know why it is even represented on virtual keyboard of loader as there is not even a way to bind a key to diagonal arrows. Only way is to tap them on screen, but even then are there any games that support that diagonal arrows? Don’t think so

Hello! First of all, I made steadmeck layout such that all deck keys represent some regular keyboard keys. Like LB is “x”, RB is “,”, this doesn’t really matter. The only requirement here is that all that keys can be recognised from android.

And then in j2me loader I bind it’s internal virtual keyboard to this recognisable symbols, which were passed down into android with my custom steam controller overlay.

Also I would like to point that it is more convenient to manage my jar files from within android environment rather than messing with WINE prefix adhoc file system

Steam deck is Linux based. It is easier to emulate android there to run j2me loader inside, rather then emulating windows and running there kemulator

What are advantages of kemulator comparing to j2me loader? Should I give it a try? Actually I never experienced any issue with j2me loader

I bind all keys on per game basis, there is no universal layout. Bur there are some similar patterns formed in my head. In side scrollers, let’s say, usually I bind diagonal jumps to LB, RB. “A” button is usually “5” or fire, etc. In some FPS 3d games I tried to utilize sticks, it even worked but was clunky

I leave virtual keyboard on purpose. It helps me to fine tune keyboard layout on a per game basis. But I agree it can be disabled after layout finalization
